Oh my goodness, friends.  Where to even start.  It has been quite an emotional weekend around here.  Here goes my second post in a row talking about something horrible that will stay with us forever.

I think a lot of you probably saw my posts on Facebook and Instagram about a Friday the 13th we will never forget and I just wanted to say thank you for all the kind words left in the comments on those.  It was the scariest situation that any of my family has ever been.

I gave you the abbreviated version on social media but for those of you want the full story, here it is.

Matthew had a baseball game Friday night at 8.  Craig and Matthew left around 7 because they had to get there early to warm up (Craig is the head coach) and so Mason and I waited a bit and got there around 7:50.  Mason wanted to bring his scooter to the game that night which was fine with me.  He likes to ride around in the big open area between all the fields.

18 years later.

It's been 18 years since that terrible, awful, heartbreaking, earth-shattering day.  I can't remember if I've ever shared the story of where I was and what I was doing when I found out about the attacks so I thought that in honor of today, I'd tell you my story and hope you'll share some of yours as well.

Welcome back, friends!  Yay for Friday, yay for (almost) Fall and yay for Book Review Day!  Right?!

If you're shaking your head no right now on the book review thing because you just aren't a reader, it's ok.  Come back next week. :)  But for the record, I don't have time to be a "reader" much anymore either.  I'm an audiobook girl, which most of you know if you have been following along for the past few years, but for those of you who somehow found your way into my little part of the internet today, then I just wanted you to know that.  And that audiobooks are AMAZING.  Seriously, the best thing to happen to the busy mom who loves to immerse herself in fictional worlds and other peoples' stories (because #nosy) but has absolutely zero time to zone out with a book.  (Ok, I could make time at night BUT...Bravo isn't going to watch itself, people.)

Hey there, lovely ladies and happy Tuesday!

Is anyone else riding the struggle bus right now trying to adjust to their new fall schedules?  I'll be honest.  I'm not doing so hot!  (Shocking, I know. haha)  I've been trying to do too many things at once lately and spreading myself way too thin which means things are falling through the cracks.  And I hate that.

Happy Wednesday, friends!  I'm back today with another edition of What's Up Wednesday with Shay and SheafferIt's been a long, very hot, busy August so let's get to it!

Monday, August 26, 2019

Hello Monday!  I know a lot of you hate Mondays and I totally get that but I need this Monday!  I'm feeling completely overwhelmed with so much stuff right now.  This week, baseball starts for real. We have three games this week plus at least one night of practice so let the late nights and Chick-fil-A dinners commence!  ;)

Happy Friday, girls!  How was everyone's week?  It's still looking like this down here in Texas.

I barely go outside these days unless the sun has set.  It's too hot to even swim.  I'm over it and ready for some cooler temperatures even if that's just the upper 80s! (Or even low 90s.  Beggars can't be choosers and all that.)  Craig even had a friend pass out with a full-on heatstroke after a golf game the other day.  Scary.  I don't know why they think it's fun playing golf in this mess.

Anyway, today I'm back with some Friday Favorites!  Some of these you may have already seen on my Instagram but in case you missed it, I had to show you again.  Like...

A DAY IN THE LIFE | 8.15.19

Hey there, friends!  I've got my very first Day in the Life post today!  I've been blogging for over 2.5 years now and I have yet to do a Day in the Life.  Why?  Because my regular daily life is super dull and it would be the worst post ever.  Trust me.  You'd be so bored.

However, I really did want to do one so I decided to choose a day that we had a little more going on.  What better than the first day of school?!

My alarm went off at 6:30 which, to a lot of you, I know is really late.  But to me, who didn't set an alarm all summer by the way, it's SUPER early.  I've mentioned before that I'm a night owl, not an early bird, so my brain doesn't even really turn on all the way until around 9am.  I've always been like that but I make up for it by being super productive late at night.  Thank goodness.

Happy Friday, friends!

The boys went back to school yesterday and it was glorious!  ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜‚ After I came home from the annual Back-to-School breakfast with the girls, I was able to work in peace and quiet for what felt like the first time all summer and I got so much done.  I forgot how easy it is to focus when there is no screaming, no fighting, no wrestling, no shrieking, no asking for x,y,z and no messes...just me and my audiobook turned up to a normal volume because I had no fears of little ears hearing bad words or inappropriate scenes.  ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Funny Business of Back to School! ((LOL--sad but TRUE! I am in NO way afraid to admit it!;)))

We are days away from the end of summer, you guys!  Maybe not summer exactly but the summer break.  Right now in Mckinney, TX, it is like walking on the sun every time you step out of the door. We are at the peak of our summer season with this dang heat. You know that feeling you get when you open the oven door and the heat rushes out so hot and fast that it curls your lashes?  Yeah, that's how it's been lately.  August in Texas is no fun.

Since it's the end of our break, I thought I'd share some of the fun stuff from lately that just haven't made it to the blog.  I'm literally just scrolling through my phone pics to see what I can find!

Last night, things got REAL for this kid!  We went to Meet the Teacher night at his middle and I still have a hard time wrapping my head around that.  Matthew is my firstborn.  My sweet, kind, responsible, cautious, rule-following young man.  And I"m just praying he leaves middle school the same way!  I pray every day that he surrounds himself with the right friends.  That is my #1 prayer.  Friends who will hold each other accountable, who won't pressure each other to make bad decisions and who will think it's awesome to continue being awesome!

Hey girl hey!  It's our final Friday before school starts up again (#teambacktoschool over here) and I've got a fun little list of Favorites for you today!

Tuesday, August 6, 2019

Hey book lovers! I'm back today with a 2-for-1 book review because I completely let June get away from me!  So I just decided to combine June and July and get back on track starting now.

If you don't care a darn bit about books, no hard feelings.  ;)  I'll see you next week.  But if you do love a good book or audiobook, then you've come to the right place!

Since I am combining two months worth of reading, I'm just going to review the books that I think you DEFINITELY need to add to your list.  I'll go ahead and link them all though if you want more info.  But the ones I'm reviewing are my favorites.

Wednesday, July 31, 2019

Hey hey hey!  It's What's Up Wednesday!  I love these posts but haven't done one since March!  I can't believe it's been that long but March is right around the time I start just hanging on by a thread when it comes to school and sports and work and blah blah blah so I can see how I veered off course. ;)

But I'm here today, linking up with Shay and Sheaffer, and our July has been a busy busy one so I've got a lot to post!

Tuesday, July 30, 2019

I'm back today with our final full day in Branson!  You guys, this was seriously such a fun, kid-friendly vacation.  There was so much to do, so many things to see and we just didn't have enough time to do it all.  But we fully intend on going back for all the stuff we missed.  I cannot recommend it enough.  Your kids will love every second of it and when they have kids, they'll bring their kids too.  Great memories.

If you missed the first two posts you can find them here:

Now let's get on to our last day!

Another week of our summer is gone, friends!  We are 3 weeks away from a new school year and as much as I LOVE summer...I'll be glad to have my house to myself again.  My kids are driving me crazy.  Is that ok to admit?  ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฆ‍♀️  Every day its a house full of noise and friends and random cups, bottles of water, trash from all their snacks and a pantry that never stays stocked.  And Nerf darts.  So.Many.NerfDarts.  They are living their best life though so I try not to fuss too much.

I know I've been promising this post for a while now over in the FB group but I had no idea so many of you were curious about Keto!  So I wanted to do a good job on this post and throw in as many tips, tricks, recipes, and products as I could so you could have a comprehensive view of "Why I Keto"...and how. I knew this "Let's Talk..." series would be the best way to do it.
(You can find my "Let's Talk...Makeup" post HERE.)

PS:  There's a lot of info in here so it might be a great idea to pin that graphic above to your new Keto board on Pinterest (b/c you'll want one of those!) and come back to it when you need to.  Plus, I'd appreciate it. ;)

So, I really went back and forth over putting my actual weight on the blog.  I don't want people to look at it like "Wow, she was a lot bigger than I thought" or "Is she serious?  She didn't need to lose any weight and this is all over the top.".  I'm not great at being vulnerable and that's how I feel sharing it so please be nice!

But after I saw the response I got when I asked if anyone had Keto questions on my Instagram post the other day, I felt like I might as well let it all hang out because yall came out in droves with the questions and DMs.  (All of those Q&As are saved in my #KetoLife Highlights now by the way in my IG bio.)

I wanted to be as real as I could be with this.

It's time for Part 2 of our Branson vacay!  Y'all, this vacation was not our typical relaxing vacation.  We went hard the whole week and were doing one fun thing after another.  And I did come home feeling like I needed a vacation from my vacation.  Cliche, I know, but so true.

In case you missed Days 1 & 2, go back HERE, check it out and then come back.  All caught up?  Let's move on to Days 3 and 4!

Friday, July 19, 2019

So...are we tired of hearing about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale yet??  ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚  If you are a blog reader then I'm sure you've seen post after post about this sale for the past week and seen everyone's favorite picks.  I know I have.  (And I don't hate it because I seem to find new great stuff with each post.)  We just got back from vacation so I just started looking through the site on Monday (and purchased my first pair of jeans!) and decided to go ahead and whip up a few easy to shop widgets in case you want to just browse quickly.

Today the sale opens up to the public! Things will sell out and come back as people return items so keep an eye out if something you really want is showing as sold out right now.  Also, most of these items will be restocked after the sale as we head into fall, so if you do miss out on the sale price, there's always a chance it'll go on sale again later in the season.

But let's get to it, shall we?

The first thing I did was check out the jeans options because I get the most wear out of those.  When I saw these jeans for $38 (whoop whoop!) I thought it was a mistake.  I checked out immediately because I thought it was too good to be true.  Which I still thought until they arrived yesterday.  And OMG.  I tried them on and immediately fell in love! They are lightly distressed with a small rip and that fading is on point!  Lighter in the center and darker on the sides gives the illusion of smaller thighs and for me, I am all in when it comes to making my thighs look smaller!  And did I mention...$38!!!  I haven't checked but that's got to be the cheapest pair of jeans in this sale.

I grabbed my favorite plaid and my favorite booties for this little try-on session so if my top looks a little rumpled, it's because it's been stuffed in my closet with no breathing room for the past 6 months. Haha

(Booties are from last year and are sold out.  This plaid shirt is not available in this color anymore but DOES come in this one and it's on sale for only $14.99 right now!  It is the softest plaid shirt I have ever worn. I could sleep in it.  I'm wearing a medium but ordered my new one in a small.
Also...New rug--yay!--HERE.)

It has been a crazy July, friends.  I feel like we've had so many things going on this month and I'm (as always) trying to play catch up with it all!

We started the month with a pretty intense baseball tournament, then celebrated the 4th of July with friends and then the next day we said the hardest goodbye to our 15.5-year-old pup, Abby.  Three days later, we packed up the car and headed for Branson, Missouri for a week of fun and it was perfect timing because it took our minds off all the sadness in our now dog-free house.  We got back on Saturday evening and I spent all day Sunday doing all the necessary things you do after a week out of town (laundry, groceries, unpacking...tons of fun).

Then first thing Monday morning I was up at a 5am (a ridiculous start time for me) to start posting all the Amazon Prime Day deals!  And for the past two days, I've been glued to my computer posting all the greatest deals over in my Deals Group on Facebook.  I feel like Amazon really stepped it up this year!

So now, it's Wednesday. (right?) And Prime Day has come and gone, my house is back in order and now it's time to get back to normal around here.  I've got Etsy orders piling up so I'm diving headfirst into those today, and working on a bunch of half-finished posts.  ๐Ÿคฆ‍♀️

But today, it's all about Part 1 of our trip to Branson!

Y'all, we had SO MUCH FUN on this vacation!  Was it our typical relaxing beach vacation?  No.  Definitely not.  We were doing something 90% of the time instead of laying on a beach with a book and a cold drink.  It was actually a little exhausting.  haha  We've done beach vacations for years now so it was time to switch it up (check out those trip recaps HERE) and the boys were pretty pumped.

Craig and I chose Branson because we both had great memories of it from when we were kids and it's only a short 6.5 hour drive from Mckinney. Branson is the ultimate when it comes to a vacation spot that your kids will LOVE.  It's a kids' paradise.  I'll show you what I mean by that throughout these recaps.  If you've never been, add it to your list!

We packed up the car and hit the road on Monday morning.  Everyone was all smiles, Dramamine-d up (just in case) and ready for a road trip!

Welcome back, friends!  We got home from our week in Branson, Missouri on Saturday evening and I've been racing around trying to get us all unpacked, the fridge restocked, the plants revived (oops) and things back to normal as quickly as possible so that I can hit the ground running (so to speak) this morning.  Why?!  Because it's AMAZON PRIME DAY!

People who say money can't buy happiness, have never ordered something from Amazon and gotten it the next day.

If you aren't familiar with Prime Day(s), it's a 2-day blowout sale that will run today and tomorrow on Amazon.  It's basically 48-hours of one amazing deal after the other on tons and tons of products from A-Z.  I'm talking vacuums (you NEED a robot vac!), air fryers, rugs, cameras, beauty, fashion, name it.

1. You need to be a Prime member, for one.  (You can join HERE for just $3 for a 30 Day Trial.  Cancel after the sale if you want straight from your online account.  Super easy and a great way to get Prime deals without committing to a full-price membership.)

2. Also, these Prime Day Deals will come and go quickly throughout the day.  Some will sell out quickly and from what I can remember, they are all on timers, like Lightning Deals.  They won't be around for long so don't wait if you see something great!

3. Join my FB GROUP!  Did you know I have a Daily Deals Facebook Group?  (I'm guessing you did but just in case...).  I will be posting my favorite deals over there as they pop up so don't forget to join, set your group notifications to "All Posts" and make sure to refresh the page each time you come back!

There is a thread going in the group where you can list anything you are hoping to find a good deal on as well!  Feel free to use to let me know what you're looking for and if I see it, I'll make sure to tag you with the link.

Artist of the Day: Fawn Veerasunthorn

ALSO, this year Target is challenging Amazon with its very own 2-day blowout sale!  This is an online-only sale which will rival Amazon in every way it can and of course, I'll be posting their deals as well!

Both of these sales are a great way to stock up for birthdays, for Christmas (definitely), add new pieces to your wardrobe, revamp your kitchen with new pots and pans and appliances, back-to-school shop for your kids or update your home decor!
Ready to get going?!  Shop the sale HERE for Target and HERE for Amazon!
See ya over in the group, friends!

Today is my 100th Friday Favorite post!  That's a lot of favorites, friends.

Did you know you can find all my past Friday Favorites, all in one spot?  You can click HERE to see them all or you can always go up to my menu or header (depending on if you are on the mobile or desktop site) and click on "My Favorites!" under "Favorites & Reviews".  That tab also has my Amazon Haul posts, a few reviews I've done, my top Favorites of 2018 and a link to my Daily Deals FB group.

It is JULY, friends.  How did that happen?!

We have been busy around here living out our super basic summer in the best ways!  We always say we like to summer like it's 1989.  Haha.  Lots of swimming in all the pools in the neighborhood, running around outside with friends from sun up to sun down, playing hide and seek, riding bikes, having lemonade stands, having sleepovers, eating popsicles, going to the movies, pouring baby oil and dish soap on slip-n-slides...and then playing in the mud created by said slip-n-slides...(don't get a slip-n-slide.)

So I thought I'd show you a little of that with a bunch of pics pulled straight from my phone. :)

Starting with friends, swimming and watermelon! Can't get much more "summer" than that!

Happy Friday, friends!  I feel like I've been gone from the blog for too long.  I took an unexpected break from here all week to just do a bunch of things that took up my spare time and now I feel like I have a million things to post about but can't possibly fit them all in today.  So stay tuned for next week!  It'll be my last week of blogging before we leave for our little vacation!  Whoohoo!!

But today, I'm linking up with some of my favorites--Erika, Narci and Andrea-and bringing you a few things I've been loving this week!

Happy Wednesday, friends!  I wanted to share some of our fun from Father's Day weekend today.  We were split between two states but we all had a big time!

So backing up a little.  For Christmas, the boys made me little coupons that said things like "This coupon is good for one hug" or "This coupon is good for one weekend by yourself."  As much as I love a hug, I also love a weekend to myself!  So they all decided that Father's Day weekend would be a great one to give me a free weekend.  They would head to Alexandria, Louisiana to see Craig's parents on Friday afternoon and would come back on Monday.  And I would get all that time to do WHATEVER I WANTED.

I had so many ideas for what I could do during all this free time, y'all.  In the beginning, I was anxious to knock out some projects, enjoy not having to clean up everyone's junk all weekend and just do absolutely nothing if I wanted.  But earlier in the week, I'd decided I wanted to do something even more fun.  I was going to drive to Texarkana to see my parents and surprise them for Father's Day!  I LOVE surprises.  I love being surprised and doing the surprising.  I knew my dad would think it was a great surprise too. (Spoiler Alert:  He did. ๐Ÿ˜‰)

But before I could do any of that, I had to get the boys packed and ready to go.

We started with haircuts.  They really needed haircuts.

It's been a couple of months since I've done an Amazon Haul and let me tell you...I've racked up quite a random assortment of Amazon goodies since then.  So I thought I'd give you a peek at the good stuff...and the weird stuff..that has shown up on my doorstep over the past 2 months.  ;)

(And in case you missed my first Amazon Haul, you can see that HERE.)

So right up front, I've got to admit that if I showed you every single thing I've primed in the past 2 months, we'd be here all day.  I'm a very consistent primer.  ๐Ÿ˜‰  So here are a few of my favorites.

Monday, June 10, 2019

When I opened up my IG stories a few weeks ago for y'all to ask some questions I got a lot of random ones (which I loved) but I also got a lot about the makeup that I use and/or if I could give a tutorial.  Let me stop right there and say that I'll most likely never be doing any kind of video tutorial.  Like ever.  I don't feel worthy, I hate my voice on camera and feel like I'd do you a much bigger favor by pointing you in the direction of people who give ME tutorials. ๐Ÿ˜‚ (Here's a great one.)

Friday, June 7, 2019

Happy Friday, y'all!  We are checking off Week 1 of summer break!  This week the boys had baseball camp Monday through Wednesday and baseball games on Wednesday and Thursday nights which kept us doing just enough to keep away the stir-crazy.

It's that time again!  All the book lovers say amen!

Today is my May book review!

So last month, I read 4 books and when I say READ I actually mean it!  Or at least for one of them, I mean it. One I sat by the pool and read on my Kindle and the other 3 were my usual Audible books.  I LOVE to sit by the pool and read an actual book.  And as much as I love reading real books with pages to turn, I may love my Kindle just a little bit more.  I never thought I'd say it, but it's true.  Times they are a-changin'.  (You've got to read that with a southern accent.)

I recommend all of these books, especially if you are looking for fun, chick-lit, beach reads.  These should definitely be added to your list.

Tuesday, June 4, 2019

Hey there, friends!  Welcome to my first summer post of 2019!!  Whoohoo!!  I want to say you can expect more posts from me this summer as opposed to how it's been this school year.  Yes.  I WANT to say that.  And I have high hopes.  But I'm learning to stop promising things when it comes to this blog because it really does come after all the other things.

What other things, you ask? (Or you didn't and I'll just tell you anyway. haha)  Well, that leads me straight into my first question of...

Today I've got Part 2 of my Amanda Answers series.  (You can find Part 1 HERE.)

So let's get to it.

Wednesday, May 29, 2019

Friends.  Today Matthew "graduates" from 5th grade and I am trying not to lose it.  I honestly didn't think I'd be this way but knowing that he's done with this huge chapter in his life is wrecking me.  So I'm trying to focus on happy things instead like our Memorial Day weekend!

Craig was in Nashville from Thursday to Sunday working a football camp so he missed all the fun.  He ALWAYS has a camp on Memorial Day weekend which is such a bummer so I always have to go stag to the infamous Wall Party that Erika and her neighbors throw every year. :(

Love these pretty girls!

Friday, May 24, 2019

Hey there, friends!  Welcome back and Happy Friday!  Today I'm bringing you a little something different as well as a few Friday Favorites at the end.  I'm starting a new series called Amanda Answers where I'll answer some questions you girls have on pretty much anything.  (Not saying I'll answer ALL questions...but as long as they are blog appropriate, we're good.  ๐Ÿ˜‰)

Thursday, May 23, 2019

Although my hubs was a football player for 20+ years of his life, we are a baseball family.  Yes, one of my boys plays flag football and the other is finally starting to show some interest.  But I have a feeling baseball will always be their #1.  And I am 1000% ok with that.  It's safer and, in my opinion, it's just more fun to watch when you aren't worried about someone you love getting a concussion or being paralyzed with every play.  ;)

Don't get me wrong.  I like football a lot...when I take the time to sit down and watch a game.  But it's just not as fun as it used to be when my guy was down there on the field.  (Ok, on the sidelines usually but still.  ๐Ÿ˜‰)  And it also helped when you knew all the players on the team personally. Now THAT was fun.

Tuesday, May 21, 2019

Oh my goodness.  What a fun weekend!!  There's too much for just one post so I'll finish it off in my next one but again...SO MUCH FUN!

We started our weekend early with a fun birthday dinner for our friend, Tyler.  His wife, Brooke, organized a dinner at Local Yocal in downtown Mckinney for a group of us and anytime you get this group together, you aren't short on laughs, that's for sure.  And this time was no different.

Happy Friday, friends!  I cannot believe we are down to just ONE MORE FRIDAY before school is out!  I feel like we just started the school year! In just a couple of weeks, I'm going to have a middle schooler.  I just can't wrap my head around it.

I love summer and I am ready for it but I will miss those peaceful 8 hours a day when I'm the only one home and can really focus on getting work done.  It's not quite as easy with what sounds like a herd of elephants running through my house day in and day out, knocking over things, leaving Cheez-It wrappers stuffed behind pillows (yes, this is still a problem), popsicle sticks all over the yard (ugh) and wet clothes EVERYWHERE. Laundry room, sunroom, bedrooms, get the idea.  When it's just the boys by themselves, they aren't such disasters but throw in a neighborhood full of them and all bets are off.

Wednesday, May 15, 2019

Happy Wednesday, friends!!  I hope you all had a great Mother's Day!  Ours was quiet, uneventful and relaxing.  And very much like every other day of our lives.  ๐Ÿ˜‚

Here's a little peek at our weekend.

I'm nearing the end of the crazy season in the shop but I'm not quite there just yet.  I worked all day on Friday because of all the teacher gift orders in the Etsy shop.  I love those pretty little teacher name signs but I'm looking forward to a couple of months away from those this summer!  I must have done at least 150 of them in the past couple of months.

Friday morning was also the MandaStrong Golf Tournament.  Craig was on the committee this year (since the golf course is his home away from home) and also served as the breakfast sponsor.  Even though I wasn't able to work the golf tournament, I did donate a couple of cute new items!

These shiny mermaid water tracker tumblers have been added to the shop and the very first one I made was one of the auction items.  I'm seriously having a moment with this vinyl, y'all.

Tuesday, May 7, 2019

Hey hey, friends!  It's book review day!!

Some of you are now clicking that x in the top right corner of your screen because books are not your thing.  I get it!  But if you are saying to yourself "I don't have time to read" then let me try to convince you that you do!!  I say it all the time.  I don't have time to read either.

Ok, that's not entirely true.

I would absolutely find time to read if reading was my only option when it came to books.  But there are these lovely things called AUDIOBOOKS, y'all.  And they are lifesavers.  You can multitask while you "read" and there is nothing I love more than multitasking.  #canIgetanamen

I'm a huge Audible fan.  I know, I know.  There are ways to get free books through your local library but I have yet to make it over there to renew my library card AND I'm not a huge fan of waiting in line for my book to become available.  ;)  But I'm letting you know this in case you are a better woman than me.  haha  (For the record, we have plans to hit up our local public library this summer so I'm hoping I can include my library audiobook experience in one of my summer reviews.)

Audible is my jam though, and if you want to try it out, you can get 2 audiobooks for free!!  Find out more about it HERE and if you have any questions, leave a comment and I'll be happy to answer them!

Now onto the review!

I "read" 4 books in April.  One thriller, one chick lit novel, and 2 autobiographies.

Happy Friday, everyone!!

It has been a very busy and very productive week around here!  Teacher Appreciation week is next week which means 90% of my open orders are for teacher gifts right now and I have about 3 times as many open orders as I normally do.  So if you have an order with me, please know I'm powering through them as quickly as I can and all will ship by their scheduled ship date.  (This date is 2 weeks from the day the order was placed and you can find it in your Etsy account under Purchases.)  I'm hoping they don't all take the full two weeks obviously, but with so many to get through, it's definitely a possibility.

Unfortunately, I have been so focused on getting out as many orders as I can as quickly as possible that I've been neglecting my Deals Group and I hate that!  So if you've been wondering why the deals weren't flowing as steadily as they usually are, it's because I'm up to my eyeballs in teacher signs and tumblers!  ๐Ÿ˜‰  Things should start to get back to normal next week and I look forward to a little breathing room again and more time to scout out great stuff for y'all.

And before anyone thinks I'm whining about being busy instead of being grateful, please know that I'm not.  I'm so blessed to be busy and I know that!  I don't consider it a problem at all--just a little stressful.  I am so thankful, humbled, appreciative and honored that you guys continue to purchase from my shop year after year!

I also wanted to say thank you in general for just being awesome.  Thank you for all your sweet notes with your orders, your kind words on FB and Insta posts and especially all of the ones you left in the Giveaway blog post!  I think we ended up with 62 comments last Friday and they were so much fun for me to read!  I love when y'all come out of the shadows and say hi like that!  I mean, I know I was basically bribing y'all to do it with a giveaway entry but still.  ๐Ÿ˜‰  If you ever want to drop a comment here even without a bribe, I'd love it!

And all of that brings me to...

Welcome back to Part 2 of our Six Flags saga!  Ugh. I hate that I even have to type that and honestly, I'm exhausted just thinking about typing out this story it's a crazy one so here goes...

I ended Part 1 of our Easter weekend here yesterday.  As a quick recap, we went to church Sunday morning and then headed out to Six Flags to spend the afternoon and celebrate Mason's 9th and Craig's 40th birthday.  How fun that they share a birthday AND it fell on Easter this year, right?!

We arrived at Six Flags super excited about the day.  The weather was GORGEOUS.  Sunny and 78 degrees with a nice breeze.  And the crowds were small which meant short lines on all our favorite rides!  We didn't expect there to be big crowds on Easter and we were right.

The Beginning

We snapped a picture right before heading in.  Not a care in the world on this beautiful day.

Oh my goodness, girls.  I can't believe I'm saying this but once again, we had a crazy, eventful weekend.  We're typically pretty calm over here...we constantly border on flat out boring.  So 2 crazy weekends in a row is almost unheard of for us.

Remember last weekend??  If you need a reminder, last weekend we had houseguests, baseball, birthday parties, Craig got baptized, Mason got sick...and then 3 more of us got sick.  (Me, my mom and Craig's aunt.)  It was a wild weekend.

This weekend was such a special one, friends!  We hosted 4 family members, went to 2 birthday parties, had 1 baseball game, 1 day with nothing but pouring rain, 1 night at Top Golf and 1 BAPTISM!  We packed a lot in and got a lot out!

We kicked off our weekend fun at Nixon's party at our new Urban Air here in Mckinney and that place is OUTSTANDING!  Mason darted away from me the second we got there so I have no pictures but I know Erika has plenty.

After the party, we headed straight to Matthew's game.  They needed Mason to fill in because they were missing some players so we got to watch both boys play on the same team which is always so fun!  Craig's parents arrived just before we left for the game so they got to see them both play too which was good because...

Isn't it, though?!

We had a great week that was full of sunshine and HEAT!  It got up to almost 90 a couple of days this week which, in all honesty, was a bit much if you ask me.  (Not that anyone IS asking me.  But, ya know.  This is my blog and I've got to talk about something. ๐Ÿ˜‰ )  This weekend is bringing us back down to the 60s with rain coming Saturday and then next week we'll be back in that upper 70s sweet spot that I love so much.

Hey there, friends!  Happy Wednesday!  Today it is supposed to get up to 89 degrees here in Mckinney, y'all!  What?!  Yesterday, it was about the same and it was absolutely lovely but I wouldn't be mad if it calmed down a bit.  I'd love to keep it around 75-80 for a while which is my sweet spot.  Those are the temps when you can open all the windows in the house and still be comfortable.  But 89 degrees with the windows open can get hot quick.

Texas weather predictions--I believe this week is a good example of that!
