Fun Up Your 4th! | Party Ideas

We are less than a week away from the 4th of July (one of my favorite holidays) and I know that for a lot of us that means friends, backyard barbeques, swimming, trips to the lake or beach, parades, and watching fireworks!

Our typical 4th of July involves most of those things as well so today I wanted to share a few fun things that we either love already or would make a great addition to your celebration.

Lately.

Happy Hump Day, friends!

Can you believe we are already at the end of June?  Why do our sweet summers go by so fast?! We are doing our best to make the most out of our days around here which typically means our house is full of boys, messes, and noise almost every day.  Because that's how we do summer around here.

I'm working hard at balancing that work-at-home-mom life with the stay-at-home-mom life as best I can this summer and so far, so good.  I have made a big effort to keep that balance in check lately.

Last week, I took the boys to see The Incredibles 2 at our Moviehouse & Eatery.  Have y'all seen it yet?  It's so cute!!  We all agreed that the movie (and the food) were great.

And we had to stop for a picture with the dinosaur on the way to our theater.

Birthday Bash 2018.

Well, it's done.  We knocked out the Nall Brothers' Birthday Bash 2018 and I think it's safe to say that everyone had all kinds of fun.

Friday Favorites #63.

Happy Friday, friends!  Today I am in full party planning mode.  The boys' (very belated) birthday party is tonight and I can honestly say I threw this thing together in a hot minute and TEXTED out the invites.  So we'll see how this thing turns out. ;)

I'll have more on the party next week but if you want to read about last year's party, you find it HERE.

But I'm also throwing in a few old pictures as well.  Our backyard birthday parties are tradition around here.  :)

Friday Favorites #62.

Happy Friday, friends!

Ok, I know it's not technically summer yet but it's coming next week!  (It's the 21st if you didn't know.  I googled it.)  This was our first full week of summer break and it went way too fast but was full of fun!  We're ready for more!

But today, I'm linking up with my friends Andrea, Erika, and Narci for Friday Favorites.

Let The Summer Begin.

Today's post is a random mess of what we've been up to lately.  We've hit the ground running this summer and while I'd love to have all this relaxation time and/or time to just do whatever I want, my life doesn't work that way.  #boo

Friday Favorites #61 {May Book Review}.

Happy Friday, y'all!  Today is our first Friday of the summer and we could not be happier!!  It will be a lazy, low-key day for my crew.  I'm assuming they'll spend it in and out of the pool, running around the neighborhood with their buddies and playing Wii Baseball all day.  Because that's how we roll.

Today though, I have a combo of Friday Favorites and my May Book Review.  This month was another good one!

We Are (Almost) The Champions.

Hey hey, friends!!  Welcome back!!  We have 3 days left of school (including today) and I think we're all just about tapped out.  Was it really necessary for us to go until June 7th??  I'll never understand.

But this weekend was a great distraction from our never-ending school year.  Craig left for the Elite 11 Finals (a football camp) in L.A. on Thursday and my parents came in Friday afternoon.  My dad just retired and this was his first time ever to see the boys play ball in person.  His work schedule never allowed him the chance to come for a game before and I think all of us were so excited for them to be here.

Both boys were playing in their postseason tournaments on Saturday and Sunday so it was the perfect weekend to catch a lot of games.  Those boys were ready to show off for Nana and Papa.

Friday Favorites #60.

Happy Friday, friends!!

It is June 1st and I could not be happier to see the month of May GO.

This month was pretty awful for the Nall family.  We dealt with everything from stomach bugs and swimmers ear, to broken bones and the death of our dog.  It's been a long 4 weeks but we are looking forward to our first month of summer!

Next week, I'll be back to blogging on a more normal schedule.  I feel like over the past two weeks, my blog has had to take a backseat to a lot of things.  Today though, I had plans to do a fun post full of favorites but every time I sat down to type this up, I was interrupted.

Why??

Because Matthew has swimmers ear.  And swimmers ear is just THE WORST.  He has had swimmers ear all week and I swear, for him, swimmers ear is ten times worse than a broken bone.  His pain is so severe after his Motrin wears off (and before he can take another dose) but there is literally nothing I can do to help him.

I have to stop what I'm doing throughout the day (he's been home) to just rub his back or squeeze his hand while he clinches up with pain.  It's awful.  The outside of his ear is so tender you can't even breathe near it without him screaming and the inside of his ear apparently feels like someone is stabbing him repeatedly.

He wakes up in the middle of the night crying so it's almost like having a newborn again.  I am exhausted.  He is exhausted.  And we are so ready for these stupid antibiotic drops to kick in!

They say it takes 48-72 hours before they start to feel some relief which is WAY too long.  Especially when the only thing that helps in the meantime is Motrin, which you can only give every 6-8 hours but it only lasts for about 3...  #grrrrrrr

Anyway, my week has just gotten away from me but next week I'll be back with my May Book Review and back to regularly scheduled programming.

And as for my Friday Favorites, be sure to check the Facebook group because I'm just going to post all of my favorites there throughout the day.

(Join the group HERE!)

Today, I've got to finish up the 34 orders that are scheduled to ship today (pray for me) plus my parents are coming into town this afternoon because both boys have baseball tournaments this weekend and Craig is gone to one of his last camps of the season.

I am so ready for everything to just slow downMy shop is on vacation while I try to catch my breath with all of that but should be back in the next week or two.

Please come back next week.  I promise to be more fun.  Sometimes, something's just gotta give though and this week it's been my poor blog.

Have a great weekend!!
