What's Up Wednesday. {March 2018}

Hey hey friends!  It's What's Up Wednesday with MelSheaffer and Shay!

Every month we answer a few questions about what's been going on lately.  We've been crazy busy this month so I'm just going to dive right in.

Tuesday.

Hey, friends!  I had all the plans to have a post for you today...and then I went to a 6:30 dinner with my girlfriends at our favorite Mexican place last night and didn't get home until after 10:30.

And since I blog at night, this is all I had time for.  Because I. Was. Tired.

The past couple of weeks have been kind of insane in the Etsy department and then couple that with 7 baseball games in 3 days this weekend all while Craig was out of town and yeah, I totally deserved a little moms night out.

I'll be back tomorrow for the big What's Up Wednesday post though which covers just about everything we've been up to lately.  It's a lot.  Our mini vacay can't come soon enough.

If you missed last month's What's Up Wednesday, you can find it HERE.

Also, the book I talked about in my Friday Favorites comes out today!  It sounds super intriguing...I can't wait to get started!!  Find it here

See you tomorrow, friends!

Happy 13.

On Monday, this big guy and I celebrated 13 years of marriage.  We decided to celebrate by going to lunch at a brand new restaurant in our neighborhood called Eleven 17 so we could skip those babysitter fees while the kids were in school.  ;)

(Flowery top HERE, wedges HERE, jeans HERE.)

Craig and I met in college when he transferred to Northwestern State from LSU after a "political log-jam" when it came to starting Quarterbacks. I was living my best life at NSU.  NSU was smallish and located in the super quaint Natchitoches, LA where Steel Magnolias was filmed.  I felt comfortable and confident there and it was an amazing time in my life.  #canIgobackanddoitagain?!

SPRING BREAK 2018.

Welcome back, friends!  Happy Monday!

Last week was Spring Break for us and we played it super low-key.  We don't really travel over Spring Break for several reasons and honestly, I'm totally fine with that.  Even though I still had to work Monday through Friday, I made time to hang with the boys when they weren't scattered all over the neighborhood with their friends.  Craig was at the office every day and then had another football camp (Orlando this weekend) and just got home late last night.  We still managed to get in some family fun though.

Here's a recap of what we got up to last week.

One of the first pictures I took at the beginning of the week was this one.  The boys and their friends pulled random stuff out of the garage to make this "fort".  Forts are all the rage right now at my house.

FRIDAY FAVORITES #50.

Well, that went by fast.  Spring Break is coming to an end and while we are super sad about that, it just means that we're this much closer to summer!!  And we pretty much live for summer around here.  And Christmas.  And tacos.  We definitely live for tacos.

As always, I'm linking up with Narci, Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites so here's what made the cut this week.

THE REWIND SERIES | SANDALS ROYAL BAHAMIAN

Lately, I've been thinking about all the fun things I've done over the years, and how it's kind of sad that I didn't have this blog then so I could share it all.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again:  We used to be a lot cooler than we are now.

Right now, we are just not in a phase in our lives where we're able to take a lot of big trips and I have to say I miss that.  It used to be so much easier to just pick up and go, but now, with Craig's new job, the football camps, my Etsy shop, the boys' baseball schedules, school, LIFE...it's just hard to get away.  We do have our fun little getaway coming up in April, we'll go to the beach as always at the end of summer and we're planning our first trip to Disney World for Thanksgiving!  So we aren't totally deprived, but still.

Earlier this week,  I found myself taking a stroll down memory lane on Facebook.  I was going through all of my old Facebook albums of fun trips we'd taken and old birthday parties and got all nostalgic.  #idothatalot

All of those old pictures inspired this new series.

#MOMFAILS.

Today, Shay and Erika had their "How We...Wednesdays" link up and it was all about Mom Fails.  (Is mom fails one word or two?  I feel like it should be two since it makes a great hashtag.  #momfails)

Aaaannyyywayyyy....

Since I blogged about my mom fails in my Confessions series awhile back, I linked up that old post and decided to go ahead and share it here again today.

So go HERE to check out all my failures as a mom and make yourself feel better about your own mothering skills.  ;)

And if you feel so inclined, I'd love for you to tell me some of your own #momfails in the comments so I won't feel so alone.  Haha.

Mommin' ain't easy, y'all.

Neil Armstrong & the Weekend Recap.

Hey hey friends!  We are living the Spring Break life over here this week and loving doing a whole lot of nothing.  Well, my kids are.  I've got to work all week like normal but since I work from home (and for myself) I can stop for breaks when I need to and re-work things so we can go to the movies or the park or wherever.  So we'll have to see what Spring Break holds for us this week!

This weekend we had AMAZING weather so I'm hoping that holds throughout the week.  We kicked off Spring Break on Friday with Mason's Living History Museum at school.  He was Neil Armstrong...

...and was just the cutest little astronaut ever!

Matthew rocked the Neil costume 2 years ago.

FRIDAY FAVORITES #49.

HELLO, SPRING BREAK!!

I know we don't all have Spring Break at the same time but next week it's our turn and we are PUMPED!

(I thought that was pretty funny. #goals)

We will be hanging out close to home next week.  We aren't big Spring Breakers (although I did it up right when I was in college, #thankyouverymuch) so our plans include going to the movies, the trampoline park (if I HAVE to), wearing the boys out at the Obstacle Warriors place around the corner and just letting them play with their neighborhood friends.  My kids don't need much to be happy.  The other day I gave them a cardboard box and they played with it all afternoon.  So that's nice.  ;)

Today, I've got some really fun Friday Favorites for you though!  As always, I'm linking up with my girlies Andrea, Erika and Narci!

So let's get started...

A New Look.

You may have noticed the blog got a little update last night!

As much as I LOVED all the color in my previous template, I decided it was time for a slightly more sophisticated change.  And pale pink and navy have always been one of my favorite color combos.  (You may not notice all the changes if you're on the mobile site.)

I'm sure this design will change a little more before it's all said and done but hopefully, this will be an easier way for you all to find me on social media (see all the easy icons to the right??) and find what you may be searching for in the blog.  I'd really like my blog to be part of my #organizemylife theme this year so this was my first crack at it.

Hope you like it!

Have a great day!

Our Weekend in Texarkana.

Hey there, friends!  I'm back today with a little weekend recap.

We took a quick 24 hour trip to Texarkana to visit my parents this weekend.  We packed in a lot and had a great time, as always.  I love going home again.  My parents still live in the house I grew up in and it's just full of wonderful memories.  I am blessed with amazing parents.

We arrived in Texarkana around lunchtime on Saturday and the boys were so excited to see Nana, Papa and their little toy poodle, Bentley.

While we were eating lunch, my dad came home from work and Mason thought he'd be funny and hide under the table under a blanket.  Everything is a game to that boy.  So Papa crawled under the table to "find" him.

Friday Favorites #48.

Happy Friday, y'all!  I am so excited about my weekend!  The boys and I are planning a re-try on our trip to Texarkana.  It's supposed to be really nice on Saturday but MORE rain is coming in on Sunday.

I have seen enough rain in the past 2 weeks to last me a very long time.  I think it's making me lazy.  All I want to do is curl up and lounge around the house when it's dark and rainy outside.  And I can't do that.  So then I get upset because I can't do what I want. #cranky

I wish we got a day off from adulting when it rained hard during the day.

Anyway, today is my weekly Friday Favorites post!  As always, I'm linking up with my friends Andrea, Narci and Erika to bring you some of my favorite things from this week.
