FRIDAY FAVORITES #106

Oh happy Friday!  This week seems to be one of those that has gone by in a blur and I keep hearing myself saying "Wait, WHAT day is it?".

Mom memes #motherhood #mommemes #memes #momlife

I seriously forget what I'm doing all the time.  I even told my mom the other day that I was worried about my memory lately because I forget things within a split second.  I'll go to google something and by the time I get the browser open, I've entirely forgotten what it was I was going to look up.  Is that normal?  Ugh.  Just one more thing to add to my list of worries!

Anyway, its Friday Favorites day and for once, I didn't forget about that! ;)  So let's get started.

Ahhhhhh!  Are you watching Big Brother!?!  If you are, keep reading. If you aren't, scroll on to #2.

Y'all, I have never yelled at the people on my TV more than with Big Brother this year.  Lately, it's been a lot of "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!", "He's obviously lying to you!!", "Y'all are so stupid!" "Noooooooooooo!" (all of that to Cliff and Nicole) and "Ughh I HATE THAT GUY!" (directed toward Michie.  I hate that guy.)

Big Brother

What Michie did to Tommy made me want to cry, punch a wall, scream and physically hurt that narcissistic jerk.  I feel the rage when I think about him, y'all.  He's played such a dirty, dirty game.  And he also scares me a little.

I love that Cliff and Nicole rose from the ashes.  I want Nicole to win this.  I feel like she's come from everyone bullying her (seriously, it was like the "cool kids" picking on the outcast.  It made me want to cry for her.) to winning comps and using her smarts and still maintaining her dignity. Yes, she's lied and schemed a little but there's a difference between playing the game and being a completely terrible person.

Cliff's game just fell apart when he started actually thinking Michie was going to take him to Final 3 over Holly.  Cliff.  Cliff Cliff Cliff Cliff Cliff. What in the world were you thinking?  When Cliff kept saying "I really feel like Michie will stay true to his word and take me to Final 3" did he not think that maybe Michie also had a Final 3 deal with his GIRLFRIEND?!  The one that he's been fighting for the whole game (while she stands in the background and lets him do it all)? And maybe, just maybe his word to her might be worth a little more.  Absolutely ridiculous.  RI.DIC.U.LOUS.

Holly doesn't deserve to win.  She doesn't fight her own battles.  Michie does it all for her.  He's the reason she stayed over Tommy.  She did absolutely nothing.  Michie just isn't a good person and his narcissistic tendencies make my blood boil.  Would you be surprised to learn that he (allegedly) was arrested for domestic violence last year as well?  I read that HERE.  No details but would we be shocked to find out that was true?  Not me.

Anyway, I could go on and on about this season but honestly, I'm ready for it to be over. This was my least favorite season of Big Brother ever.

Have you checked my Etsy shop lately, y'all?!  If not, you should totally go do that today!  I've got a sale running right now (through tonight) on all my personalized drinkware.  That includes every cup, tumbler, water bottle, wine glass and everything in between.  The sale ends tonight and quantities are limited!  Several of my favorites are down to just 1 or 2 left in stock.

I've also got a new sign in the shop!

I made this little Laundry room sign for my own house last week and finally got it listed in the shop.

I can also do this sign in a 5.5x24 if you are interested.  (this one is 3.5x12")  Just message me and I'll get it set up! I just haven't had a chance to make one that size so I can't list it yet.  It would be $35 plus shipping.

I've also been working on lots of fall sign orders as well.  We are finally dipping into the (very high) 80s this week so for us, that's the start of fall.  ;) I love doing all the fall signs!

I've even done some Christmas ones!

You can find all my Fall and Christmas signs HERE.

And finally, my earring collection has started rolling out!  These are my FAVORITE thing to make these days!!  I stinkin' LOVE them!  Most of these are made using a really nice cork on leather material.  That means they are thicker, sturdier and so much nicer than basic leather earrings but still super lightweight.  I'm obsessed and have even more fun designs coming in soon.

I love that I can whip up a pair of earrings for whatever outfit I choose that day.  So fun!  But this whole thing has been a lot of trial and error.  There are a TON of different styles of leather and I've narrowed it down to my personal favorites.  The cork ones are definitely my favorite and look so great with genuine leather layered with them.  The hardest part of all this is just all the millions of combinations you can do but in order to stay sane, I'm going to keep things fairly simple and focus on classic shapes with great materials.

I've got so many more to list so I'll be working on adding those this weekend! But for now, you can check out what's available HERE.

Well, I've finally given in and started Downton Abbey.  It's taken me a while to get on board with this one because it just didn't seem like something I'd like.  But so many of my friends sing it's praises and we talked briefly about getting together to go see the movie soon...so I figured it was time to see what I thought.

I'm in the middle of Season 3 right now and here's what I think.  It took me until the 3rd season before I truly felt like I HAD to keep going.  The first two seasons were good but I didn't feel like I couldn't wait to see what happened next.  And then the third season started off with a bang with Shirley MacClaine!

I love Shirley MacClaine so much and she was such a breath of fresh air. I want her to be a permanent cast member!  This show is definitely giving me #allthefeels too but it's also super predictable.  Not that I mind...I just keep calling every scene.  This one is about to die, this one is going to dump this one, this one is about to get in trouble, this one is about to be pregnant.  I've cried, I've laughed, I've cringed.  It's so good!  I honestly couldn't wait to get home from baseball last night so I could finish a few more episodes before bed.  I need everyone to stop dying though.  For real.

Well, we've been back to the ballpark twice now this week with one more game tonight.  The police presence has been visible which we appreciate so much.  There are now police on bike patrol as well as police cars and a police tower by the skate park.  It is so comforting after such a scary night followed by an emotional week as everyone dealt with the trauma.  (In case you missed it, you can read about all of that HERE.)

Thankfully, the boys seem to have no emotional scars from that night that I can see.  Kids are resilient, that's for sure.  I feel like I'm much more scarred than they are.  Probably because I know the evil that goes on in this world.  I know what could have been.  I have those "what could have been" visions still in my head.  They just see it as one scary night that turned out to be just a bad person trying to scare someone that had nothing to do with them.

They loved that there was a police car parked front and center on our first night back though.  They mentioned the police several times before we even got to the game.  (We'd told them they'd be there protecting everyone.) They felt very comforted knowing our PD was on patrol.

And last but not least, I got some fun news this week!  In college, I competed in our school's scholarship pageant and (somehow) managed to win it.  So as a former Miss Northwestern, I was invited back to act as a judge for this year's pageant!  The pageant is next Friday and I'm so excited (and a little nervous!).  I ordered this dress in the royal blue and hopefully it will work out.  I really don't want to have to scramble to find a dress at the last minute.

Craig and the boys can't come because of baseball but my parents are coming and I'm hoping a few of my old college friends will be there as well.  But regardless, it'll be a fun weekend.

If you are in my Daily Deals FB group then you've already seen some of these but they are too cute not to include here.  Jane is my absolute FAVORITE place to shop.  I told someone the other day that probably 90% of my wardrobe is from Jane.  Boutique clothing at great prices!  Can't beat that.  Here are a few current Fall deals that caught my eye.

This super light and thin cardigan is on Jane right now in both the red/black and black/white for just $16.99!  This is so perfect for those of us still sweating to death while praying for cooler weather. You can dress like it's fall without sacrificing your health. ;) Remember that Jane deals only last 72 hours (and this one was also up yesterday so it's only got another 48) OR until it sells out.  So don't wait if you want it!

  2. I am 100% onboard the I Hate Michie Train. I work with survivors of domestic violence and everything about that guy made my hackles rise BEFORE I saw the DV allegations online. Also, the episode where he treated Holly so badly made me cringe; he is SUCH a narcissist. I hope he doesn't win.

  5. I have disliked Big Brother with a passion this year. It's just made me sick. The way some of them have treated each other. I can't believe I am still watching this season. I am hoping Nicole wins because it's the only person who should win at this point. My heart was broken for her earlier this season.

    1. Yes!! The beginning of this season made me sick to my stomach when they all ganged up on Nicole for no reason and then howled with laughter when she was sobbing her eyes out in the other room wondering what she'd done. And then watching how Michie treated Kat, how he treated Holly and then Tommy...blood boiling. Bella was one of the worst ones in the beginning so I'm glad she got booted off quickly. I usually love BB because I get invested in the cast and this year, the majority of them have just been jerks. I love good game play but there is a line between playing a good game (like Nicole) and then being absolutely vicious.
