WHAT'S UP WEDNESDAY!

Happy Wednesday, friends!

It's the monthly What's Up Wednesday post where I link up with MelSheaffer, and Shay and discuss what all we've been up to lately!  I think it's been awhile since I actually did one of these so I'm excited to join in this month!

Let's get to it!

WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK...

I'm making Crispy Cheddar Chicken this week and we could not love it more!  This recipe was one of my very first pins on Pinterest years ago and it has been in our dinner rotation ever since.  I serve it with mashed red potatoes and make extra "gravy" for those.  It is not the healthiest meal in the world but it's delicious and easy!

I've also been using my new Instant Pot recently!  You can see my easy Shrimp & Sausage Jambalaya recipe HERE.

WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT...

This cute picture popped up in my Facebook memories yesterday.  It's one of my favorites!

And this one too...look at that cute baby boy!

Of course, I'm also reminiscing about the beach!  Take me back!  You can read our Beach Trip recaps HERE if you missed it.

WHAT I'M LOVING...

Well, I'm still completely obsessed and in skincare-love with these Drunk Elephant products.  My skin is looking more even, my dark spots are fading so much faster than they have with any other product I've tried and I haven't had a single breakout.  My skin is hydrated without feeling greasy and just looks so much healthier.  It will be hard to get me to ever switch to anything else.

You can find my review here and this entire collection of "littles" here.  I just ran out of the cleanser and have already ordered more of that.

I'm also loving my Facebook Group, y'all!  It started as just a place where I'd share blog posts and occasionally pass on some fun finds. But it's kind of evolved into an official "Daily Deals" page now where I post sales, lightning deals, fun finds and other great stuff that is budget-friendly!  I am all about those savings so it's actually really fun for me.  And I am in front of my computer all day anyway working on Etsy orders so it's easy for me to take a five-minute break to search for something new.  It definitely keeps the work day a little more interesting.

I'd love for you to join if you haven't yet!  Once we hit 1000 members, I'll announce a Giveaway! I mean, who doesn't love a giveaway?! We're only about 20 away so go join and be sure to switch on your notifications to "All Posts" so you don't miss anything good!  So many of the deals are for a brief time only or will sell out quickly.

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO...

We are all about that base(ball)!

Both boys are just starting the season so it's a lot of late night weekday games and early morning Saturday games (ugh!!) with practices scattered throughout.  Mason is also playing football so we've got that going on too.  To all you mamas who have more than 2 kids in after-school activities...hats off to you.  Two is hard enough.

WHAT I'M DREADING...

I am not a morning person in any sense of the word.  I despise early mornings.  But Mason has ANOTHER 8am baseball game Saturday morning.  So I'm 100% dreading that 6:30am alarm on a Saturday!

WHAT I'M WORKING ON...

As always, I'm busy busy busy with all the Etsy orders!  Fall and Christmas are the craziest times of year for my little shop so I'm doing everything I can to stay on top of it and not let it stress me out too bad this year.  My best advice??  Order EARLY!!!  :)

(Yes, I'm being lazy and stealing these pictures straight off of my Etsy Instagram page.)

Check out the shop HERE!

WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT...

Next weekend, Craig and I are headed back to Green Bay for the 100 Seasons Celebration Weekend!  The Packers invited their alumni to come in for the game and enjoy all the other festivities that weekend so my parents are coming in to stay with the boys.

The last time I was up there was in 2015 for Brett Favre's Packers Hall of Fame Induction.  But Craig's been back a few times for different charity events.

And then last year, we went to Packers/Cowboys game here in Dallas and had the BEST time.  Craig and Bubba Franks were invited to be the guest alumni for that game so basically, I got to tag along while they schmoozed with all the fans.  Not a bad gig!

And yes, I will absolutely take this opportunity to post my picture with Clay Matthews.  ;)

I've already checked the weather for next weekend and even though we're still 10 days away, it's looking like I'll be getting a taste of real fall weather!  Highs in the lower 70s and lows in the low 50s!  Whoop whoop!!  Can't wait to wear all my new fall stuff that will probably be sitting in my closet here in Texas for at least another couple of months.  Haha.

WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING...

I have read/listened to so many books this month!!  I'm working on my August Book Review right now but my FAVORITE was this:

I have been singing this book's praises to anyone who will listen for the past month so I'll go ahead and do it again.

Don't let the title fool you.  This is not a "romance" book.  It's a laugh out loud (really hard and a lot!) romantic comedy about two best friends who have always promised each other that they would both find their "big sexy love" someday.  It is so funny, fast-paced, but also sad...but not in a way that will ruin the book for you.  It's a sweet sad.

It's my favorite chick-lit book of the year and I can't wait to read more from this author!

(You can find all my other book reviews here.)

As for what I'm watching, well DUH.  I'm all about those crazy housewives!  The New York reunion is insane.  I am 100% Team Bethenny and no one can make me change my mind.  No, she's not perfect but the others just come across as jealous and cold.

Dallas is pulling me in a little more this season.  I love Brandi and Stephanie's antics but they are pretty much the only ones that are interesting.

And Orange County is always full of drama.  Can I just say that I'm so proud of Shannon?  She is really starting to get herself together and I'm loving it.  #yougogirl

I'm also still watching Big Brother although this has not been my favorite season.  I do love JC and his crazy talk.  And I felt bad for Scottie and whatever he tried to do that ended up getting him kicked off.  I still don't really understand what that was.  But I'm really hoping Tyler can keep it up!  He's playing everyone perfectly!!  I'd like to see Haleigh and Tyler in the final two.

So that's it for this month's What's Up Wednesday!  I'll have my book review up by the end of the week this year or early next!

Happy Wednesday!

Love your Facebook group. My son is all about baseball and has asked for a bag to carry his stuff. Any ideas?

    1. Yes! Are you in the FB group? I'll look up a few options today and post them there if you are. Or if you aren't, I'll come back here and post them under this as well. :)

    1. Hi Jen! I'm not currently able to accept any custom sign orders. :( I'm so sorry! During my busy seasons, it's just too much. I typically will accept them after Christmas when things slow down a little and in the summer though! Message me on Etsy with any questions and your picture!

Would you ever consider making your FB group friends only? I want to like and comment but there’s like 10 posts a day and it ends up in all my friends and family’s feed which is annoying :) thanks! Adrienne

    1. You're way more considerate than I am! Haha! I never would have even thought about that. Maybe some of your friends and family would have caught a deal they loved too though?? But once we got to 1000 members I was going to make it a closed group anyway and we just hit 1000! :) It'll be private very soon! Thanks Adrienne!
