Weekend Roundup.

Happy Monday, friends!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I am in a pretty fantastic mood from all this awesome SUNSHINE we've had this weekend!  It rained here for like a week straight.  Maybe more.  I'm talking steady downpours every single day, multiple times a day for at least 7 days.

Every day looked a whole lot like this.

But Saturday morning, we woke up to all that glorious sunshine pouring through the windows and it felt GOOD!

I definitely don't hate the rain though.  It was cozy in the house all week, we built our first fire in the fireplace and enjoyed those cool temperatures.  I wasn't mad about it.

It also gave me an excuse to break out my new rain jacket, my rain boots, and my new umbrella (the super cool inverted one) on Friday afternoon.

(I know you can't see the umbrella in the pic above but it's so cool.  You need one.)

Our reason for braving the downpour after school?  Haircuts.  We figured we'd have the whole place to ourselves and we were right.

Mason went first and after he was done, he snagged a free coaster off the "Help a Hero" table and bounced around the waiting area trying to see how many times in a row he could pop it into the air.  God forbid he sit still for 2 seconds.  ;)

Thankfully, we were the only ones there so I didn't have to stifle his fun.

When we were done, we ran into Little Ceasar's to grab pizzas for dinner and headed home for a cozy night in.  Ahhh bliss.

Saturday morning, we all got to sleep in thanks to all that rain making it too muddy for football practice.  But the rain had finally stopped and the sun was out!!  Craig took the boys to get donuts for breakfast and then out to hunt down the Amazon Treasure Truck to grab the deal of the day.  (A 5lb bag of candy for trick-or-treaters and a pumpkin for 10 bucks!)

They thought the Treasure Truck was pretty cool.

I stayed home to tackle some laundry and household stuff that only gets attention on the weekends.  And then the doorbell rang and the mailman dropped off a package with this perfect fall platter that I'd ordered off Jane awhile back!  Oh happy day!

So cute, right!? I love happy mail.

That night, we got a babysitter so we could meet some friends out for dinner in Dallas.  It felt good to actually fix myself up a little after a week of being cooped up inside in my leggings and cardigans.

I snagged pics with the boys before we left.

UPDATE:  My top is back on Jane today!!  Selling fast in certain colors!  Wearing a medium.

AND I wanted to show you how awesome that new root booster I talked about from Friday's post is and let you know that-as of the time I'm typing this-its on sale for the cheapest I've seen it.

(My top and tassel necklace are both from Jane.  I got this top in olive green and royal blue as well and I'm so glad I did!  It's my new favorite!)

We met up with our friends who were in from out of town at Nick & Sam's Steakhouse in Uptown and y'all, it wasn't just dinner. It was an experience.

The music was so loud you could barely hear yourself talk.  The lights were so dim you needed a flashlight to see the menu.  And the people watching was ON POINT.  ;)  It was like a Vegas nightclub meets fine dining.  And it totally worked.

We saw everyone from a Dallas Maverick (Craig says) to a Hugh Hefner wannabe with an entourage and supermodel looking girlfriend that had to be at least 50 years younger than him.  They sat next to us in a corner booth and enjoyed what looked like a pina colada with two straws....in a very 50s malt shop kind of way. Haha!  See what I mean by people watching being on point?!

Teenagers sharing a malt. That seemed to be the thing in the 1950's.

If I could have snapped a pic without getting caught I totally would have!  I did think to take one of my delicious lobster mac-n-cheese though.  #heavenly

Such a fun night!

And then Sunday, we overslept and missed church but I totally saw that one coming. Mason had baseball practice at noon, a football game at 3:30 and then our Harvest party with our life group was at 5.

The Harvest Party is one of my favorite fall events every year so we were excited.  And the weather was perfect!

Matthew is Spiderman this year and Mason is the Black Panther.  Ask him if he's ever seen that movie though.  #nope  He just thought the costume looked cool on the Party City website. ;)  And Matthew is just about over costumes and just randomly picked out Spiderman.  Costumes are not his thing.

Is this setting not just IDEAL?!

Craig couldn't help himself and had to be out there in the middle of the boys' football game.

Love these sweet mamas so much!  And all of their food.  So much food!!  So many crockpots.  And Narci's caramel apple cobbler was amazing.

The party wrapped up around 7:45 and we headed home.

And then, to end our weekend, the doorbell rang around 8:30 and when we opened the door a bucket full of candy was waiting for us on the front porch.  We got "boo'd!"  The boys think this is the greatest thing ever so we'll be returning the favor this week.

Today, the boys are out of school because of parent-teacher conferences and then Matthew has a game tonight.  We have 5 games this week including a doubleheader Thursday night and a game Friday night after we make a stop at Trunk-or-Treat at church.  It's going to be a crazy one but such is life!

Have a great day, y'all!
