BUFFALO WING DIP RECIPE

MERRY CHRISTMAS, FRIENDS!!

Can you even believe the year we've had? It's like a slow-moving nightmare that none of us can wake up from, right? I know we are all hoping that 2021 brings us some much-needed peace, hope, and joy and I, for one, plan on embracing those three things now instead of waiting for the new year.

Want to know what brings me JOY during the holidays??

ALL.THE.DELICIOUS.FOOD. 😂

I'm being completely honest. I do not deprive myself during the holidays and YES I regret it every single January. 🙈 But if 2020 has taught us anything, it's that we need to enjoy the little things in life and quit worrying so much. Who cares if I'm not a size 0? I don't. Eat the cookies, y'all!!

I know we've all got our resolutions to eat better and exercise more but if you can put that on hold until after Christmas, I've got some things you need to add to your Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or New Year's Eve menu! It's also perfect for Super Bowl Sunday!

Our very favorite go-to gooey, cheesy goodness during the holidays is my Buffalo Wing Dip. I started making this way before it was popular on Pinterest and it never lets me down. Plus it's super easy to make and is the perfect thing to bring to a party! Always a crowd-pleaser!!

Mason has been asking for it recently so even though I was going to save this to make on Christmas Eve, I decided to go ahead and make it early so I could drop the recipe here in case you don't already have one you love! (And then probably make it on Christmas Eve again too. 😉)

So here's what I needed for my dip. I always go for the Walmart Great Value brand when I can. It's great quality at a lower price so why not?! I needed 1 cup of ranch and 1 cup of Buffalo Wing Sauce, some cheddar cheese, 2 8oz blocks of cream cheese and some chicken. I actually threw 3 chicken breasts into the crockpot with some water and cooked it on high for 4 hours and then shredded it up to get this. But you can also use a rotisserie chicken to save time! It won't give you as much chicken in your dip but it's a great little time saver.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup Buffalo Wing Sauce (this one is my favorite)
2 8oz blocks of cream cheese (softened)
2-3 chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
2-3 cups (or more!) shredded cheddar cheese
(I literally just toss it in there but I'll say you need at least 2-3 cups)
TIP: Freshly shredded cheese from the block is going to melt so much better. But when you want it done fast and easy, the pre-shredded kind will do!

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer to get the cream cheese smooth. (Pop your cream cheese into the microwave for 30 seconds if it needs to be softened a little more.)
3. Add in your ranch and buffalo wing sauce and mix again with your mixer.
4. Add in about a cup of cheese and your chicken and stir together with a large spoon.
5. Pour the mixture into a 9x13 baking dish
6. Top with more cheese. (As much or little as you'd like.)
7. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

VOILA!!

Gooey, cheesy, spicy, goodness on a chip.

It is so good!! You can also throw all these ingredients into a crockpot but we love cutting into that top layer of cheese so we usually bake it this way instead. You really can't go wrong though.

We love it!!

If you are looking for a yummy (super yummy) dessert, be sure to check out my Chocolate Chip Gooey Cake! It is my favorite dessert to make for the holidays, parties and get-togethers. My mouth is watering just looking at them. 😍

Have the BEST Christmas, friends!!!

We'll worry about our muffin tops in 2021. ;)

  1. I started making buffalo chicken dip a couple of years ago after loving eating it at parties. SO good! And I recently made the same discovery that you did- Walmart´s prices are waaaaay better than Kroger´s on most items. Walmart prices come close to or are equal to my beloved Aldi prices on a number of items. Now I cannot decide whether or not to make that ooey gooey cake. The two sticks of butter are what is holding me back from making a quick decision :). But it looks so good... Merry Christmas Eve Eve!
