Lately.

Happy Hump Day, friends!

Can you believe we are already at the end of June?  Why do our sweet summers go by so fast?! We are doing our best to make the most out of our days around here which typically means our house is full of boys, messes, and noise almost every day.  Because that's how we do summer around here.

I'm working hard at balancing that work-at-home-mom life with the stay-at-home-mom life as best I can this summer and so far, so good.  I have made a big effort to keep that balance in check lately.

Last week, I took the boys to see The Incredibles 2 at our Moviehouse & Eatery.  Have y'all seen it yet?  It's so cute!!  We all agreed that the movie (and the food) were great.

And we had to stop for a picture with the dinosaur on the way to our theater.

We've done a few other fun things lately.  This past Saturday, my parents were still in town from the boys' birthday party the night before, and in the 10+ years that we've lived in Mckinney, TX, my dad has never been downtown.  In the past, when my parents were able to come in to visit, it was always a quick 24-hour trip because my dad worked on weekends.  (They are from Texarkana, TX which is about 2.5 hours from Mckinney.)

Now that my dad is retired though, they are able to stay longer and Saturday morning my mom wanted to show him downtown Mckinney for the first time.  My dad loves historical buildings and things like that so I knew he'd love The Square.

Matthew and Mason, however, were not as thrilled to wander the streets.  Downtown Mckinney is full of fun restaurants and lots of antique and home decor shops with some fun boutiques thrown in.  The only thing they were interested in was the magic shop though.  So of course, I told them we could go but when we got there, we found out it had closed and was now home to a super cute women's clothing boutique.  I personally wanted to stay and shop but with those two, I knew that wouldn't be happening.

This is what happens when there is no magic shop anymore.  #pouting

But Nana wanted a picture with her guys so in order to get them to smile, I promised them a stop at Mom & Pops Popcorn and Candy Shop for a treat.

Fake smiles all around!  But Nana got her picture.

We are done with candy for at least a month.

Saturday afternoon, my parents decided to head back to Texarkana and Matthew and I played his new favorite game.  Electronic Battleship.

If you're familiar with this game, can you tell me what the blue pegs are for?  We thought they were supposed to be used like I'm using here but there weren't enough for all of that so...??  I need to go back and read the giant booklet of instructions.

Matthew loves this game and it's also nice that you can play with just one person for those days when "There's no one to play with!".

After our game, we decided to head outside for some pool time.  I finally finished Elin Hilderbrand's The Island which was the "real" book I'd been reading for some time...  Seriously, it took me months to finish that book but not because it wasn't good.  Because it was SOOOOOO GOOD!!  One of my favorite Elin books for sure.  But during the school year, I just can't find time to sit down and read.

This is why I'm an audiobook junkie.

So now that summer is here, I finally finished it and was ready for a new one.

(Full review of the book coming in my June Book Review next week!)

My friend, Brittany, dropped off a ton of books last year that she was done with and I filed them away in my bookcase knowing they'd make a great little summer library.  All of them looked good but I ended up choosing Nancy Thayer's Summer Breeze because I knew I was about to get in the pool and read and the cover on that one was already torn.  So I wouldn't feel bad if I got it a little wet too.

Even with the tear, that cover was speaking to me!

Again, I chose the book by it's cover.  #sorrynotsorry  ;)

I started in on my new book and Mason and his buddy, Hudson, came out to swim with Matthew.  Both boys got water balloons at their birthday party and that occupied all of them for quite awhile.

Mason brought out the leftover cookies which was a good idea.  I needed those gone.

And then water balloon baseball started when another friend joined the group.

And I noticed Mason was wearing last year's swim trunks again.  Haha.  He's grown so much.

So that's a little of what we've been up to lately.  This week Mason has been going to VBS but Matthew thinks he's a little too old for that now.  I mean, he IS ten now... ;)  Such a big boy.

I've been back to work but I'm sticking to slightly more relaxed schedule since the boys are home, Craig's at work and I'm not behind on orders.  I'm working weekdays only and stop and start as I please without stressing out.  I plan on enjoying my summer as much as my kids.  :)

Thankfully, I enjoy making all these cute things and have even found time to make myself a new sign for our bedroom!  I'll show y'all soon once I can get a good pic.

And now a shameless plug...

{Find my Etsy shop here.}

Here are a few of my favorite summer items that have been sent out recently.

Only 5 left in stock!

Love these pretty little travel tumblers.

Just got in a new shipment of these stainless steel bottles in a variety of colors!

And these cute tumblers are just classics.  They also come with a matching straw.

Add a pineapple instead of a name!  I love them in the metallic gold.

And these two signs are two of my faves.  Colors can be changed.

Find all of these and so much more HERE.  Turnaround time is 1-2 weeks.  :)

I'll be back Friday with some really good Friday Favorites!  If you want a sneak peek, join me over in my Facebook group.  It's hard for me to wait until Friday to post good finds sometimes.

Enjoy your day, friends!

(Linking up with Sheaffer and Mel for What's Up Wednesday!  I technically forgot about WUW but this whole post is about what we've been up to so...  ;)
