Friday Favorites #11. {5.12.17)

I have to be honest right now and tell you that I spent a solid 30 minutes on Pinterest looking for funny memes for today's post.  I just couldn't stop laughing and y'all know that hole you fall down when it comes to Pinterest!  There is no escape!!

So this is usually me on Fridays.

But believe it or not, I've actually had a pretty great week!  My stress level has gone WAY down now that I've finally given in and extended my turnaround times to 1-2 weeks on everything in the shop.  I can finally breathe again.  Orders are already shipping faster than I thought they would so hang tight if you have an order in!  If you need it by a certain date, be sure to check your scheduled ship by date (in your etsy account under purchases) and then add several days for shipping. If it won't be there in time, you may want to add on the Rush Fee if you need it.

So since we're on the topic, here are a few of my favorite things from my shop on Etsy from this week!

#1

These 22oz multicolored confetti tumblers are FINALLY back in stock!  These pretties go in and out of stock all the time and sometimes it takes MONTHS for them to come back.  So get one while you can!

These tumblers also come in turquoise, pink, gold and red!

I also did lots of glitterdips!  Aren't the pretty!!

Find all my drinkware items here.

I also did quite a few wood signs but forgot to snap pictures of them!  I was just happy to mark them off my list!

Another favorite of the week is this book!!!

Paula Hawkins nailed it with this one!  (She also wrote The Girl on the Train)  The book is about this small town near a river and over the years there have been many suspicious deaths in what they call The Drowning Pool.  After a teenager girl's mother and her best friend both wind up dead from apparent suicides, the investigation into what really happened to both of them begins.  There were so many twists and turns different characters that were connected in ways you didn't see coming.  And I was very appreciative of how it ended without leaving any questions!  (I hate when I finish a book and still have questions.)

So if you need a new psychological thriller to read, be sure to add this to your list!  I thought it was much better than The Girl on the Train.

I finished up Crazy Rich Asians and was underwhelmed.  I just couldn't get invested. Nothing pulled me in and kept me hooked.  It was light reading (listening) and it was crazy to hear about how rich these people were!

I also finished up Summerland by Elin Hilderbrand and it was so good!!  It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me wish I was in Nantucket (as all of Elin Hilderbrand's books do) and I really felt for all of the characters.  I was definitely invested in this one.  So far I have yet to meet a Hilderbrand book that I don't like.  :)

After I finished Into the Water, I started Eligible (as my audiobook) and The Matchmaker (also Elin Hilderbrand) as my "real" book/mama gets a little "me" time book.  I usually keep the real books for when I can go sit by the pool and relax after I'm done working for the day.

With audiobooks, you fly through them, so I'm almost done with Eligible.  It's really cute and if you are a Bachelor fan, you'll like this book!  And I've just gotten started with The Matchmaker but I have a feeling it's going to be sad!  I'll let you know how it goes.

And if you want to keep up with the books I'm reading or check out the books I've read, find me HERE on Goodreads!

Right now, I'm all about trying to shed some winter weight and get back to the summer body I had...10 years ago.  ;)  Ok, so that probably won't happen but I'd at least like to be able to look less squishy in a tank top.  So I've jumped on this Beachbody 21 Day Fix bandwagon because the only thing that ever really gives me a kickstart is spending a lot of money on something!  I'm definitely taking it seriously and eating right and following the workout plan every day.  Craig is also on a bit of a health kick so it's fun to be miserable get healthy together.  ;)

Seriously though, I really am enjoying the shakes and smoothies and the eating plan/guide is actually kind of fun.  I did have to do a little more grocery shopping than normal this week to pick up some "healthy" foods for some recipes.  When I was looking at funny memes on Pinterest I saw this one and laughed!  This was me trying to get to the frozen shrimp I needed this week!

I've also done that to get the PB crackers that they keep on the top shelf at Walmart because they are always pushed to the very back behind the cheese ones.  Thank goodness for Walmart grocery pickup.  I rarely have to do that anymore.

As for the workouts, they are all available on demand and are only 30 minutes.  I set my laptop up in the playroom and get it done once my orders are finished up for the day and the boys are playing with their friends.  And I am hurting, girls!!!  But it's a good hurt.

I'm excited to see how this all works out after the 21 days.  :)  (And no, I'm not a Beachbody coach.  Just a customer.  So any talk of this program is completely unbiased.)

More baseball!!  We had two games this week and watching these guys play just makes me happy....even when we get the crap kicked out of us.

Mason's team played Wednesday night and it was BAD.  For whatever reason, we just couldn't pull it together and got clobbered!

The boys got a little "talkin' to" after the game.  They'll get 'em next time!

Last night, Matthew had a game and they got beat almost as bad!  Matthew played great though so at least he was happy with that.  I love that both of these guys are still at an age where a bad loss doesn't ruin their mood for hours and hours afterwards.  They are pretty much over it by the time we get to the parking lot.

Before the game, Mason and I ran to Sonic because he was starving and we didn't have time to make dinner before the game.  He got chicken strips and fries.  I got a large water with lemon and strawberries and a grilled chicken wrap.  And then picked out most of the chicken and ate it without the flour tortilla.  Because I trying to be SO GOOD!  (Ugh.  I really wanted some tator tots!)

Here we are waiting for our food....(don't worry, we always wear our seatbelts when not parked!)

And yep, those are my favorite earrings that I feel like I wear all the time!  I have them in silver and gold (these are the silver ones).  The hat is from Etsy.

And for my favorite #icanteven and #justsayno of the week, I found something fancy!

I know at first glance you're all, "Well what's the big deal?  It's a red strappy sandal."  Uhhh NO.  Look closer.

You wear them together.  No longer is it uncool to wear socks with your sandals apparently.  Can you even IMAGINE wearing that?

And it's GUCCI, y'all.

And these luscious red heels with complimenting sock things are $1,190 at Nordstrom.

(Check here if you don't believe me!)

Here's the description I found:

Add a little something extra to your look with a streamlined take on the sock-with-sandals trend that highlights glossy finishes and luscious red leather.

Without the socks, the shoes are actually cute.  But it's not couture without something straight up weird.

  4. Those shoes...holy cow! I'm not sure that's a trend, but who am I to say. That Planet Fitness picture had me laughing...my life! And that tumbler was what I had in my cart, but didn't go to order it till later and saw it was gone...but don't you worry, I'll just get that one too :) I drink so much more water when it's through a straw! Today, I threw my 5 year old up on the top shelf to grab something I needed...a really tall man came up and said, "I always wondered how people got stuff off the top shelf". Have a great weekend!

  8. I saw those sandals last week on Nordstorms site and thought they would be perfect for your blog. They are quite hideous. I don't understand couture.

Cute tumblers! Your hat looks really good on you.
