Happy day, friends!
Today I've got another "lately" post full of random bits of pieces of life around here over the past couple of weeks. As I type this, I have no idea what I'll be pulling off my phone so that's always interesting. ;)
First up is my trip to Michael's last week for red glitter. That is all.I.needed. RED GLITTER. I had a few Etsy orders that needed to be finished so it was supposed to be a quick in and out trip.
But somehow....this happened.
Oops.
(If you are judging me in your head right now I don't blame you. But I also don't care. haha I am well aware that it's early.)
I walked in and this skinny tree was calling my name. I've been wanting one for our bedroom for YEARS and just never did it for some reason (why?!) so when I saw this tree for $40 I knew it had to come home with me.
And then I made the mistake of walking through the Christmas decor aisles. It is just impossible for me to resist a Christmas aisle.
All of their Christmas decor was 40% off so I grabbed 2 of these adorable red pom pom garlands, a few buffalo plaid reindeer ornaments, and those gorgeous buffalo plaid poinsettia stems. And I couldn't say no to this cable knit and faux fur tree skirt. I am so weak. The red and green ball garland around the bottom of the tree was a last minute addition when I couldn't figure out what to do with it just yet. I kind of like it there though.
I had no real vision when I pulled all of these but I love how it all came together.
And at the last second, I saw this Nutcracker and he is just perfect next to the tree and across from my solid red comforter that I pull out every year for Christmas. The fabric garland was also an impulse purchase. For now, I've got it just tucked under my TV on my dresser.
Just FYI, there is free shipping at Michael's for orders over $39!
Craig said I win the award for earliest Christmas tree ever but I am SURE that's not true. ;)
It was November 2nd by the way. I did my best to explain to him that once I got the tree home I had to make sure it was all in working order. And once I got it up it was too much of a hassle to take it all down again just to leave it sitting in a box for a couple more weeks before I decorate for real. And then I just wanted to see what the ornaments looked like on it. And then the new tree skirt was too pretty to just sit in the bag. And since the tree was up, I might as well put out the Nutcracker...
Plus, it makes me HAPPY. So who cares, right? :)

More pics from my phone...
After several weeks of not being able to play any baseball, we were back at it last week FINALLY! I've missed watching this kid play ball!
One night, Matthew and I stayed outside until dark playing basketball. He played with one sock on which I didn't realize until after this picture.
Also. He definitely posed for the above picture. #sofake
And then we took a selfie and kept wondering what was up with that light streak by Matthew's head and realized it was due to my newly shattered screen. There's a giant crack right over the selfie camera lens. I am so past due for an upgrade so "get new phone" is on my to-do list this week.
I love the pic though because I can see the resemblance between us. My baby boy.

My weekend was spent working on a ton of Christmas sign orders. I headed to Home Depot for wood and then came home and cut and sanded about 30 boards.
This is NOT my favorite part of the process.
Sunday night, Craig watched football at his buddy's house while I cozied up in the bed and watched The Family Stone since I was feeling festive with my pretty tree all lit up.
Monday morning, I finished off 18 signs and several drinkware orders, got them packed up and shipped out and managed to get the house in order before my in-laws arrived that afternoon.
By the way, today is the last day to place an order in the shop until November 21st! I have to close down in order to get everything shipped before we leave for Disney and new orders placed after the 21st will start shipping again around the 30th. Check my Instagram for more info on dates and deadlines.

More randomness...
Mason's proof from his school pictures came in and it's so cute!
On Tuesday morning, I dropped Abby at the groomers, voted quickly (10 minutes!), and then headed to Starbucks for a latte and a breakfast sandwich.
And then got back to work. Of course, I've been posting ALL THE DEALS on the new blog (check it out!) and in the FB group in between painting signs and glittering and personalized all the cute cups.
The new blog is strictly devoted to fun finds and great deals. And that's it! You should be there. ;)
This is also a great blog to subscribe to if you aren't on FB a lot or can't remember to check the blog each day! If you go to the desktop site, you can subscribe in the top right section and you'll get all the deals from that day sent to you in one email.
In the afternoon, I got a call that Abby was all cute again and ready to be picked up. How cute is this old girl!? She'll be 15 in January.
Craig's mom planted flowers in my planters while I was upstairs working so I tried to get Abby to stand there so we could get a picture. It's not easy following commands when you can barely see and hear.
We made steaks, mashed potatoes and mac-n-cheese for Paw Paw's birthday and then ended the night with some card games and By the Book which the boys apparently love. I've never played but they seem to like it.
And that's life lately.
Check back here tomorrow for my October Book Review but if it's NOT up tomorrow then it'll for sure be part of Friday Favorites. We've still got in-laws in town, I'm crazy busy with Etsy orders and Mason has a doubleheader tomorrow (6 and 7:45) which means it's going to be a late night.
Now go HERE to check out all the latest fun finds and great deals on the other blog!
Have a great day!
I loved seeing a little behind the scenes of your shop! You should do a whole post on that!!!
ReplyDeleteI may have to do that! ;)
DeleteYay for a book review...I've been on a reading frenzy....reading is the ONLY time I sit down and stop thinking about all the stuff I have to do.
ReplyDeleteYou are a busy lady! I just love the skinny tree - that might look great in our study!
ReplyDeleteAhh that totally happens to me every.time. I walk into Michaels or Hobby Lobby! I'm so weak it's not even funny. When do you leave for Disney??? We are planning a trip next November and it's so far away but I can hardly contain my excitement! We've never been while decorated for Christmas so I cannot wait!!!
ReplyDeleteWe leave on Thanksgiving morning! Can't wait!! It'll be our first time EVER! I'm pretty sure I'm the most excited out of everyone since I'm the one who has been doing all the research, planning and shopping for it!
