BEAUTY BOXES, CLOUD-LIKE SNEAKERS & POP CULTURE FAVES | FF #123

Teachers, teaching, spring break, second grade, much needed.

Oh hey there, Spring Break!!

Somehow we've jumped from Christmas to Spring Break in the blink of an eye and I'm not mad about it in the slightest.  January and February are the most boring months of the year, in my opinion.  You come off the holiday high into the coldest months and sit around waiting for warm weather and pretty flowers to arrive again.  Am I right?!

For me anyway, March is the beginning of all the fun.  Our wedding anniversary is March 19th (15 years this year!), then we move into April with Craig and Mason's birthdays (both on the 21st), then Matthew's birthday in May and then SUMMER!  Then, of course, it's back to school, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years...and then we're back to boring old January again. 😂

Spring Break always kicks things off for us even though we are totally boring and don't ever go anywhere.  I didn't grow up traveling and taking extravagant vacations multiple times a year and Craig didn't either.  Our families couldn't afford it and our parents had to work.  So we just kind of naturally adopted what we've always known ourselves and been fine with a family-friendly vacation in the summer and a few smaller trips (with or without kids) here and there throughout the year.  And Spring Break is hard for him to get away because of his private Quarterback coaching and all the football camps that kick off in the spring.

Instead, we find things to do around here.  Craig's parents are coming in all week and I'm sure they'll take the boys to do some fun things.  I've got to work throughout the week because March also kicks off my busy season in my Etsy shop.  I usually get an influx of orders for Teacher Appreciation gifts, cups for Spring Break, Easter basket gifts, last day of school gifts...it gets pretty busy around here and the #bossbabe in me doesn't want to sacrifice those potential orders by closing down shop for a week!

But now let's get to those Friday Favorites!

So, did y'all know that Target has Beauty Box deals each month?  Yeah, me either!  But apparently, they do!  Each month they release a few themed boxes with sample/travel-sized products in it so you can try new stuff out without the commitment.  Each box is just $7 (with free shipping) and there is no subscription or anything like that.  You can just go to the website, check out all the box options, see exactly what is in each one (love that) and then if you're interested, go ahead and grab it!

I posted this fun find in my Deals group the other day (click HERE to join us!) and I decided to go for the "Self Love" option.  (There are 5 boxes available to choose from.)  If I'm being completely honest, I really was drawn in by those glittery cooling gel eye masks. 😂 I am such a sucker for all things glittery and shiny!

I also LOVE a face mask...especially ones that you peel off.  There's just something so satisfying about peeling things off your skin. (Is that weird?)  So I was pumped to get one of those PLUS a "shimmering cream face mask" as well.

The reviews on the other products were awesome too.  Apparently, this Calming Aromatherapy Mist is perfect to spray on your sheets and pillow at night and the Island Vanilla body and hair mist also has a light and yummy scent.  The Aveeno Cracked Skin Relief is supposedly outstanding and since it's about to be sandals weather, I could stand to give that a try.  It's also great for hands and elbows too.  Mason has the dryest hands on Earth...seriously...so I'm going to be making him use this on the regular.

There are other boxes available too like one with great skincare products, one perfect for travel with little shampoos and dry shampoos, deodorant etc.  There's also one for newly released products and one with "clean" skincare products.

I'm definitely going to be purchasing more of these little boxes and I'll let you know if I find anything awesome!

Where are my Bachelor peeps?!  We are SO CLOSE to finally finding out the ending to this train wreck!

In case you missed it, I wrote a big ole blog post yesterday with my latest thoughts on the Bachelor, all the crazy theories that are circulating and my very own opinion of how this goes down.  Now, I didn't get a ton of comments on the blog post but I had a lot of y'all DM on Instagram to agree with me and chat about it. ❤ I love hearing from y'all in comments here on the blog or in DMs because I feel like you get me. 😂 You are my people.

Yes, Peter.  You have been a terrible bachelor but I feel like you know this and aren't super proud of how this season has gone down.  He's a lovable dufus with some growing up to do but he'll get there.

So if you want to hear about the top 4 or 5 conspiracy theories on how this will shake out as well as my thoughts on our new Bachelorette, head over HERE once you're finished with this post.  It's not one to miss for those of you who are as (shamefully) invested in this as I am. I gotta admit, I had the best time writing it!

Speaking of shameful, I'm starting to feel like I may have a problem with "my shows". 🤦‍♀️ Do I talk about TV too much?  Maybe. But then again, I feel its normal for a mom to unwind with mindless television after everyone has finally gone to bed.  Right?  It's my thing.  My vice.  Don't judge me.

So yes, we all know I love all things Bravo. (Dying for those NY Housewives to come back to my screen!)  And we know I'm a Bachelor fan watcher.  But I'm also a loyal Grey's Anatomy girl and when I saw my friend Andrea wearing this Grey Sloan hoodie the other day on her Instastories I knew I had to have one too.

I mean, we all know I love a good sweatshirt.  (See last week's post...)  So this wasn't a huge stretch for me.  I spend a lot of chilly fall and spring nights at the ballpark and all I want when I'm out there is a cozy hoodie.  So this will get a lot of wear.  ;)

I'm wearing a small in the Heather Green color but there are a ton of other colors available.  It's super soft and great quality too.  If you are also a Grey's nerd, you can get one HERE. ;)

Oh hey there, you beautiful couple!

Seriously.  How STUNNING is this picture of Harry and Meghan?!  I saw it on one of their fan pages yesterday and if that's not a framer than I don't know what is.

I love this couple.  I love that Harry has kind of always been a little rebellious but in a respectful way and Meghan is standing up for herself and trying to do what's best for her family.  I know the girl has some major haters out there and I know that them splitting off from the royal family is so upsetting to a lot of people but when it comes down to it, it's their life.  They get ONE. And if they feel like moving to Canada to raise their family in the way they see fit is the best option then they should do it.  Meghan was scrutinized at first for being a gold-digger and just wanting to be a princess. And then as soon as they decide to leave all of that she's scrutinized for NOT wanting the money and not wanting to be a princess.  The girl just can't win.

Although this looks a lot like winning to me. ;)

And you know they love each other.  They both seem like very lovable people and you can't fake that kind of glow. (Ok maybe you can with the right highlighter and foundation but the looks they give each other are hard to fake.  She's not that great of an actress, let's be real.)

Anyway, these pictures were definitely a favorite this week!

And finally.  We've come to my favorite find of the week.

Image may contain: shoes

Skechers Go Walks are my favorite shoe EVER.  They are cute, pair well with shorts or skinny jeans and feel like you are walking on a flippin' cloud.  Plus you can wear them with or without no show socks and you can toss them in the washing machine when they get dirty.  I can't even count how many pairs of these I own.

So when I saw that they were on sale in a bunch of new solid colors and in 2 new prints PLUS had that little Easy Pay (flex pay?) option, it was a no brainer.  I grabbed two new pairs (in taupe and the leopard) to add to my collection.  I figured the taupe would go with a lot of things this summer and the leopard ones would look super cute with jean shorts and a black tank or tshirt.

If you've never tried a pair of these, do it!  I've worn these all over Disney, Six Flags, Branson, the zoo...so good.

I'm not sure when the sale price will go away but I'm guessing it'll be soon.  They've been on "Today's Special Value" all week so I feel like the time is coming to an end sooner rather than later.

And that's all I've got for today!

I'd love for you to find me on Instagram or on the Deals page on FB!  And don't forget to check out my Etsy shop for all the latest goodies!  I've got a fun new product on it's way to me right now that I can't wait to get added!

Happy Friday!

  1. You are one of my favorite bloggers for sure! Very likeable and super down to earth. Your comment about not traveling for spring break is spot-on. It sounds like you will be raising down-to-earth, grateful kids. I cringe when I see some of these bloggers taking all of these extravagant trips week after week with their children. Traveling is great, but I wonder what some of these kids are going to expect as they grow up. Kudos to you for keeping it real and staying humble. Also, you are gorgeous!
