Friday Favorites #12. {5.19.17}

Woooo hooo!!  Only 8 more days of school left and then we are getting our SUMMER ON!!  We can't wait!  This school year has flown by--for me anyway--and I'm not sure I like that! :( #timeslowdown

But before I get into anything else today, I need to stop and wish my firstborn a very happy 9th birthday!!  Nine years ago today, Matthew Jay Nall made his grand debut into this world and made me someone's MOTHER.  I still remember how surreal it felt when I looked down at him in my arms after he was born and thought "I have a SON.  I am a MOTHER.".

And then I burst into tears.

Matthew will get a full birthday post on Monday after we do some celebrating this weekend so I'll save all the mushy stuff for that. ;)  But here are a few pics of my sweet, kindhearted, gentle boy.  I love him more than I could ever put into words.

Isn't he cute?!  Love that boy.

Now, moving on to Friday Favorites with Erika, Narci and Andrea!  (Can't wait for Erika to get back!  I'm so excited to meet Miss Britt!!)

Did y'all catch my Wednesday post about this yummy new recipe I tried?  These are definitely a favorite!!  They are filled with Ricotta and Parmesan cheese, turkey bacon, and spinach. I didn't even know I LIKED ricotta cheese!  I think next time I'm going to add some diced jalapenos to the mixture too.

Find the recipe here.

I go through books really quickly, especially when I listen to them on Audible.  Usually one a week if not 2.  This week it has been Sunshine Beach.

This book spoke to me when I read the summary, girls.  It's set at the beach (check!), is centered around a group of girlfriends (check!), some of them are dating celebrities (check!), while they renovate a beachside hotel (check!), for a TV show for HGTV (check!!) AND there is a murder mystery (check, check CHECK!!).

So basically, the book has every single thing I love all wrapped up into one.  The beach, girlfriends, celebrities, a reality show, a home reno, HGTV and a mystery!  #imean

HOWEVER.

I wish I would have looked a little closer when I bought it because it is apparently Book 4 in the Ten Beach Road Series.

You can absolutely jump right in with this book and be totally fine.  But there are storylines that are briefly mentioned or glanced over that intrigue me and make me wish I knew the whole backstory.  So I most likely will go back to Book 1 and start from there.

I used to be the girl who would read the last page in the book first so this isn't that big of a deal for me.  (I don't do that anymore so don't yell at me!  haha)

I've got about 45 minutes left in the book so I'm not sure how it ends yet but there are 5 books in the series so I'm guessing it leaves me wanting more.  At this point, there's no way they can wrap it up nicely with so little time left.

Every week I have an Audible book going while I work, drive, do chores, etc and then one I read by the pool while I eat lunch or after I finish work for the day.

This week, I started A Beautiful Day by Elin Hilderbrand (because I'm OBSESSED with her) and she never disappoints.  I'm just a few chapters into this one but from what I can tell, it's about a girl who returns to Nantucket to get married and has planned her wedding according to The Notebook that her mother wrote while she was dying.  She wrote all of her thoughts about her daughter's future wedding so her daughter would feel like her mother was there and a part of it all.

I love my lunch breaks on my favorite pool chair with a great book!  Pretty soon that sun is going to be way too hot though and I'll need to sit under the umbrella every day.  But right now, it's perfect for soaking in a little Vitamin D.

I know this picture is pretty terrible but I snapped it on a whim the other day and just now found it my camera roll.  On Mother's Day weekend, I did a little shopping at our newly remodeled Bath & Body Works and snagged some new foaming soaps, new candles and new car scents.  I also grabbed this little foaming soap dispenser which I LOVE especially because I have some yummy Christmas-y designed soaps that I can pour into it and still use without shame!

I checked the B&BW website and it looks like they are out of stock there but check your local store for more!  I love it for summer!  (and it looks pretty against my red mirror that I spray painted a few years ago!)

While I was there I also got 2 each of my favorite candles.

I kind of hate that it says Happy Birthday because who wants a happy birthday candle laying around when your birthday is only one day of the year?  But I hid it inside of this favorite candle holder from Target so it hides that part and still gives off the most delicious scent!  It's a buttercream smell and it is to die for.

I also love this lemon-y scent.  I am all about the lemon lately!  It is fresh and light but this candle also smells like a lemon cookie.  It makes me crave those AMAZING lemon cookies from Zoe's.  (My mouth is literally watering just thinking about them.  Of course, I discovered them right before I started this whole 21 day fix!)

So stinkin' yummy, y'all.

Don't forget to use a coupon when you go!  I think right now you can use the code HEYSUMMER for $10 off $30 or more.

Handsoaps are also 6 for $24 or 4 for $20.

My favorites right now...

Cucumber Melon, because it reminds me of 8th grade!  I am so happy they made this into a handsoap!!

Love all of these.  Some of them smell good enough to eat.  :)   These are also fabulous end of year teacher gifts!  As a former PE teacher, we loved getting these soaps!  We'd put them in our staff bathroom because they were a giant step up from the gross soap from the standard soap dispenser!

And since we are talking about teacher appreciation/end of the year gifts, here's what I've been up to in my Etsy shop lately!  Orders have been leaving my house in droves, y'all!  I am working as fast as I can (without compromising the time I need to spend with my family) in order to get orders out on time or even before their scheduled ship date!

One order at a time! #83togo

These cute little signs can stand on their own or be hung on wall.  They are 3.5"x12" and I've made a ton of them in the past couple of months!  I know time is pretty much out for Teacher Gifts but these can also be done with ANY name or word!  They are an adorable little addition to a girl's room, nursery, gallery wall in a playroom etc.

They can also be made bigger, so just message me for any requests!

Find the listing for the names here and the "teacher life" sign here.

Glitterdipped travel mugs here.  (If you'd like a custom saying, just leave it in the notes at checkout!)

And that is Samantha Who? I'm watching on Hulu on my laptop.  I binge watched the series this week and it is just so funny and so well made.  I can't believe it got canceled all those years ago!

I also have been sending out a ton of these pretty confetti glitter water bottles!  The confetti moves around between the double walls which makes them so fun and unique!  Find the Plexus listing for these here and the regular names here (multicoloredand here (pink).

Favorite #5 goes to my favorite mascara.  I've mentioned it before in my Friday Favorites but I had to order more this week and when I got my new tube it was just a reminder of how much I love it!

I get volume and length with this little tube and that just makes me happy.  :)

It also comes in Waterproof which is MUST for summer!

BONUS: #icanteven #justsayno

And of course, I never forget our ultimate disaster piece for the week!  I found this shirt on this gorgeous model and in all honesty, she can probably pull this off.  However, if I walk into the Cheesecake Factory to meet my girlfriends for dinner wearing this, I'm not sure they'd sit with me.  ;)

I can't decide if this shirt took a lot of thought or none at all.

This "deconstructed" shirt just might be the definition of a hot mess.  Did y'all ever watch Project Runway?  Does it still come on?  This looks like a giant oopsie that someone had to throw together at the last minute in order to put SOMETHING down the runway. #makeitwork

Oh.  And it's a $1,290 shirt.

Totally worth it.  ;)

Happy Friday, friends!!

For all my other Friday Favorites, check them out here!

    1. It's so hard to make decisions in there with all the good deals and delicious smells!! Try the lemon one! It really does smell like a lemon cookie!

  2. Every one of your just say no finds I feel like I could make without even trying!! Throw two fabrics together. Just sew them together because it doesn't matter if they're even, then there ya go. Done and now I've just made thousands ;) seriously though how do they even make money on these? Crazy stuff haha but I love seeing what you find. Try going to jeans and start from high to low price. The highest priced jeans on there are awful!! Lol they're good for a laugh!

    1. Right?! This stuff is just ridiculous! I will have to look into the jeans! The ones I posted awhile back with giant see-through plastic on the knees were insane!!

  5. I need that foaming soap dispenser! I still have leftover Christmas scents too and I love them, but I don't really want Tis the Season in my bathroom in May. That deconstructed shirt is so ridiculous! My friends probably wouldn't sit with me either!

    1. Yes, that's exactly why I knew I had to have it! I can't find a lot of cute foaming soap dispensers. Hope you find one at your local store!
