FRIDAY FAVORITES: GREEN BAY TRIP 💛💚

Hey strangers!!  I feel like I've been gone forever!  (It's only been a week but still.)  It has been the craziest few weeks around here and I am so looking forward to getting back to our routine.

funny nurse humor

The past 3 weekends have been so fun but so busy and it has thrown off my weekly routines like crazy!  I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels trying to catch up on everything from laundry and dishes to Etsy orders and the FB group.  Looking forward to this weekend where I can get everything back in place, remember to wash gym clothes, sign school forms, open mail and get new listings posted to the shop.

All the craziness started with my trip down to my old college stomping grounds to judge the Miss Northwestern pageant.  I was gone from Thursday to Sunday with that one.  So much fun though and totally worth it.

Then the next weekend Craig's brother came to visit, it was my birthday weekend and we took the boys to their very first NFL game! (Cowboys vs Packers here in Dallas.)

And then this past weekend, Craig and I headed up to Green Bay for some Packers alumni appearances he was scheduled to do and to go to the game on Monday night.  We were gone from Saturday afternoon to Tuesday evening (me) and he got back on Wednesday.  My parents came in to take over parenting duties and it was a lot so I'm so grateful to them!  We don't get away just the two of us very much so it was much appreciated.

So for Friday Favorites today, you're getting the full recap of the trip because the whole thing was definitely a FAVORITE!
----------------------------------------
We arrived late on Saturday night and slept in on Sunday.  One of Craig's alumni appearances got canceled at the last minute which left us with an entire day completely free!  There aren't a ton of things to do in Green Bay so we decided to wing it.  It actually brought back so many memories of how our life was when we lived here.  Back then, it was just the two of us (and the dogs) and on Tuesdays (their official day off), we'd sleep late and then spend the rest of the day together.  We'd got to lunch somewhere, go to the movies, take the dogs for long walks...ummm yeah, that was about it.  haha  Seriously, there isn't much to do in Green Bay.

We DID take ballroom dancing classes with one of his teammates and his wife though.  That was hysterical. ;)

Back to our day.  We left the hotel around 11 and decided to head towards the stadium for lunch.

It wasn't hard to decide where to go.  Our favorite Mexican restaurant (the only one in town from what I remember) was Margarita's.  We haven't been there on any of our past trips for one reason or another so it's been at least 10 years since we've eaten there.  We were hoping it was still the same and that they still had the same white queso with ground beef...

...and they did!  Ahhhh this stuff is the best!

We stuffed ourselves silly and then headed to the movie theater across from the mall.

jexi-poster

We watched Jexi which was an absolutely ridiculous, crude but super funny movie about a man's relationship with his phone.  Maybe we should have chosen the new Brad Pitt movie but we just weren't in the mood for something serious.  And we have a very similar sense of humor so we knew we'd laugh, even if it was absurd.  And it kind of was.  ;)

After the movie, we went back to the hotel.  Craig left to go meet up with some of the other alumni that were in town and I laid around on the couch enjoying the peace and quiet for a bit before deciding to head back out and give the mall a quick once over.

I picked up this sweater and this sweatshirt from Old Navy and one other cute top from a local boutique.  It was a quick trip.  The shopping isn't top notch at the Bay Park Mall but it could be worse.

When I got back, I caught the sun setting outside our window and then got dressed to meet up with everyone for dinner.

I decided on the new sweater I'd just gotten from Old Navy, my favorite jeans (25% off!), new booties and my Amazon crossbody.

My earrings are hopefully getting listed today in my Etsy shop!  They are genuine leather and white with gold metallic detail.  Love them!

I met up with the guys at Hinterland, next door to the stadium.  This place used to be a Kmart parking lot when we were here and now there are fancy new restaurants and hotels all over it.

I didn't take many pictures but it was such a fun night with old and new friends.

The next day was game day!!  Once again, we slept late and took our time getting ready for the day.  The weather was crisp and cool but not crazy cold.  It was in the high 40s/low 50s which is totally doable. Especially for Green Bay.

I decided on my new Jane sweater (not currently available there but I found it HERE on Amazon and some super cute ones on Jane right now in 3 gorgeous colors HERE) with my mustard leather earrings, those same jeans and my leopard booties.

I threw on my favorite jacket that thankfully, happens to be green, and felt sufficiently fan-girl-ed up. 💛💚  (Jacket was a Jane find last year and I've posted it over in the Daily Deals FB group once this season too! I'm always on the lookout for it because it's so good so be sure to join us over there if you haven't yet!  I did find a really similar one HERE on Amazon though.)

I love these booties.  And this #OOTD mirror in our room was fantastic so I took advantage. ;)

As we headed to our car I couldn't help but drool over the gorgeous trees!

I called out to Craig to come back and take a picture with me in front of the pretty red tree.  One thing I did love about Green Bay (and Buffalo too) was that they had actual seasons.  All four of them!  Not just summer and winter.

We stopped for lunch at Red Robin (another one of our favorite places to eat back in the day although we do have them in the Dallas area as well.  Just not in Mckinney or any neighboring cities.)  We were pretty much trying to re-live our youth in any way we could.

After lunch, we headed to the stadium!  Craig and the other alumni that were scheduled for this appearance had to be there by 3 but we got there with about an hour or so to kill.  So we checked out the new and improved Packers Pro Shop and grabbed new beanies and hoodies for the boys and hat for Craig.

Not this one. 😂😂😂😂  We thought this one reminded us of his brother and his uncles though so we had to snap a pic.

How fun is that backdrop behind the cashiers?!  It made me dizzy!

We finished our shopping right at 3 and wandered over to join the rest of the group for the event.

It was pretty much the most perfect football weather ever.  What a gorgeous day!

This whole area really was just an ugly parking lot and a Kmart plus some other random chain stores.  And in 10 years, it has been turned into THIS.  Gorgeous restaurants, fun places to hang out, outdoor ping pong, shuffleboard and live music.  (I've got videos on my #gopackgo Highlight bubble in my IG profile.)

We heard people talk about Ariens Hill and how they open it up when it snows and turn it into a fun place for sledding and tubing!  There's also a skating rink that opens up as well.  How fun is that?!  Green Bay is most definitely not my favorite place to go in the dead of winter but stuff like this would definitely help!  Where was this when we lived here?!!

Our event was all the way at the top of the hill so we hiked up.  I brought up the rear since I was with ex-professional athletes with super long legs while I was in my cute boots that weren't made for hiking.  😂 (Although they were a lot more comfortable than I was expecting.)

The view from the top was so pretty!

We made our way into the event room where they had these cool banners set up behind little tables where the alumni were supposed to sit and hold court.  The Hall of Fame logo was a little misleading though.  haha  It was a Hall of Fame event...Craig wasn't in the Hall of Fame.  😉

I snapped a few pictures before it got super crowded.

One group picture before we headed to the game!

Game Time!

Aaron Rodgers girlfriend, Danica Patrick, was in the suite next door to us.  (I circled her.  haha)  There are glass walls separating the suites and I literally didn't realize she was there until the very end of the 4th quarter.

For the record, Craig took these next pics because I was NOT going to be that lame and take stalker paparazzi pics of Danica Patrick. But he has no shame. 😂

The paparazzo himself.

Like almost every Packers game we've been to in the past few years, this was another awesome one!  The first half of the game started out rough but we ended up kicking a game-winning field goal in the last few seconds of the game to win 22-23!  Can't get much more exciting than that!

The atrium at Lambeau is so nice.  Stopped to snap a few pictures on our way out.

It was such an amazing weekend and we never take for granted how lucky we are to be able to do things like this.  Especially since Craig was never a big name guy.  He just happened to play behind one of the biggest name guys ever.  Such good times.  We are so thankful to still get to do things like this after all this time.

The boys were so happy to see us when got home and my heart was basically bursting from seeing their sweet smiles again!  I love these two so stinkin' much.  We can't wait to take them to Green Bay for the first time!!

They were pretty happy with their new gear though. ;)

A few other favorites...

Did you happen to see all the awesome Rae Dunn deals I posted yesterday in the FB group with FREE SHIPPING?!  Be sure to check that out!  I'm hoping the free shipping deal is still live when this posts!

This is just a few of them.  There were so many!

Also, on Jane today there are some gorgeous sweaters very similar to the ones I wore in GB.  Aren't they cute?!  I had to snap up the rust one!  This style is clearly a favorite this year for me!

Hope to see you all over in the group today!  More fun deals coming all day!

And if you want to read about our Green Bay trip from last year, you can find it here.  (So glad no one puked this year! 😉)
